I have a brand new Acer Aspire 5 A515 laptop I will be opening up to upgrade SSD, Memory and add additional Hard Drive. I will clone SSD using Crucial Acronis True Image. Model A515-56-36UT

It's always worth moving the browser cache to the HDD if you have and SSD and an HDD fitted. That writes a very high number of files to the drive and moving it to the HDD will extend the life of the SSD, with only a very small speed penalty.

One question on this video: you didn't provide a link for the M.2 adaptor....So many choices on Amazon....Just want to choose on that's not junk....sometimes you order something and its cheap but also junk.

Thank you, getting one soon and i wasn't sure about the upgradeableity so i did some research and came across this vid, i have decided to go with a similar setup consisting of a WD blue SN570 1TB NVME and a 500GB WD HDD i have laying around, i will also add 8gb 3200mhz stick as i have 2 laying around for a total of 12GB which should be perfect for this laptop, I will do a fresh install of win 10 on the new SSD because i prefer it over 11 I just bought this laptop 2 days ago and it should arrive soon, it's going to serve as my secondary laptop/portable laptop as i already have a high end acer nitro 5 with an RTX3060, problem is the battery life on that laptop doesn't even last an hour web browsing but that's typical for such a powerful laptop with a 3,700mah battery so i finally decided to get a second laptop plus i use my nitro 5 as a desktop hooked up to a 24" monitor Paid 220USD for this aspire 5 in an open box but basically brand-new condition, goes for over 450 new here i hope it'll be any good, mine also comes with 128GB as it is the exact same model but obviously that ain't enough for me, i originally wanted to go with 256 or 512 NVME + 512GB 2.5" SSD but i found the 1TB WD blue SN570 for 61USD on sale at the last moment and decided to get that and just use my 2.5" 500GB WD HDD i have laying around as an extra as it was far cheaper going that route thanks to newegg having the 1TB SN570 for a really good price, so even though 1.5TB is more then i need for what i am planning to use this laptop for it's the cheaper route and obviously the smarter way to go. I just bought this laptop from Amazon. What other accessories do you recommend i buy to go with it. Such as can i burn cd's n dvd's with a tray attachment? Also i noticed 2 types of black units different names i could have added to go with it but habe no idea what they are or do. I'd like an external harddrive to save photos and music on. Also what do i buy to read all types of sd cards and store onto external or on laptop? Do i need extra cords of any kind? Like also for connecting to my big screen tv either cord from modem to tv or laptop to tv over WiFi? Would my internet provider protect everything connected to it and connected to it via WiFi? I don't know what I could be doing wrong. I've tried to clone with Crucial, WD, and Seagate drives using their websites recommended cloning software. I'm trying to clone my old HDD to the new SSD. I've tried doing it internally and externally and then installing the new drive. Each time it says drive was successfully cloned. But when I replace the drive into the computer the cloned drive will not boot. I've tried at least 12 times. Any ideas ??? Thank you

What if the drive you are cloning it has partitions on it ? The clone will be exactly , I mean it will be the partitions will be created in the new drive? Or will create a new mixed drive ?

How do you determine what memory is supported in this laptop? You added a 4 Gb DDR4 2666 Mhz So-Dimm to the open dimm slot. What about a 8 Gb, 16 Gb or 32 Gb? What does it support?

Hi. Just upgrade ssd as needed, if you want more space on ssd. It's not required when adding 2.5 inch hdd. Thx

Hi. None so far that I've worked on. Gen4 will work, but at gen3 speeds. I've upgraded many aspire 5 series. Hope this helps.
