Perfect. Tutorial outlines what to do to get started using a simple, useful example. Narrator speaks slowly and deliberately. I had no problems understanding. Well done.

When I type 8000mm for that top wall on the plan, the line goes well off the page. Is there any way to scale the whole page so that when I move the cursor the measurement increases in greater amounts.
@CADinblack8 жыл бұрын
Hi +Jeff Smith ! I am not sure if I understood your question but when you draw a line that goes off the page, you can type: "Z" (zoom) and then "A" (all). By doing this you will see all your drawings. Try that
@aienhance7 жыл бұрын
I faced the same problem too. It happens because you have used the command "line" instead of "Poly Line". Try typing PL and then add the value, i hope it solves the problem. :)

Hello CAD in black...thanks for sharing your video, I have question Look on the Tutorial to draw a simple floor plan (Fast and effective!) PART 1 what template name are you using on this video ?
@_eyeinn6 жыл бұрын
Hi, I hope I could answer your question properly. I also wondered about the templates since there's acad and acadiso templates. I found out that acad.dwt is a template setup for imperial (units=inches), whereas acadiso.dwt is setup for metric (units=mm)
@footring16 жыл бұрын
great video, but i find it faster to press space instead of enter which works the same way
@BSania6 жыл бұрын
How did you draw the rest of the walls inside. My line tool does not allow me to start drawing from where ever I want, it only shows those midpoints and endpoints as start points and does not show straight lines up or down, only to those midpoints etc. I don't get it.

Can you set up the drawing so you can type 5, meaning 5 meters), instead of 5000 mm? It would be much easier because we are thinking in meters....Must the commands always be given in mm?
@CADinblack6 жыл бұрын
Hello +ruffomaldito. Autocad is adimentional. You can type 5 and it can mean what you want. It can be meters, milimeters, kilometers, etc.. Depends what kind of drawing you are working on. Only when you print, you have to set up the scale of the paper to fit there
@matrim643726 күн бұрын
Do you really intend to build anything where the smallest, or even most common dimension is in meters? Seems pretty unlikely unless you are building a megolith of some kind.

@shin2catty477 жыл бұрын
hi, I'm kind of new to autocad and to making floorplans. I will just ask a question. If autocad users measure the length of a room, which is likely to be measured? the interior wall or the exterior wall?? I'm kind of new to these things. Thanks
@CADinblack7 жыл бұрын
Hi +Shin2 Catty. Thanks for watching this video. When you measure a room area or a room dimension, you should measure from the interior walls, because otherwise you would include the wall in the dimension which is not usable space. If you have more questions, don't hesitate to ask.
