I think that's what's happening around all leagues, LEC, LPL and LCS are going down on viewership because no one trust them, yeah It could be fun watching playing each other and look who is the best team, but deep down you know that, in case of LEC and LCS, you won't see them even at quarter on any international. And LPL, you would rarely seem then win against LCK. And that's why LCK is the only one that still have a good viewership, because people trust them, you already know that supporting HLE, GENG, DK and T1 means supporting not only through LCK, but also all the way into internationals. Tbf there is not a solution, I mean LEC and LCS are just so behind LPL and LCK that they are just irrelevant and could be erased from international and no one would care, and LPL are still a bit behind.

This worlds feels kinda weird to watch. As an EU fan obviously the tournament is always just huffing copium and saying prayers, but it feels like so many teams are playing super weirdly. BLG being in a 1-2 group against PSG, where it looks like PSG actually wins game one and then they throw. T1 throwing game 2 against G2, then G2 losing anyway. Overall so many teams look so wildly different from their regular seasons, but there’s a massive lack of upsets for how weirdly some of these teams play.

GENG, LNG are pretty much the only teams that are consistently great, both at mechanics and macro.

In T1s case I think it's just reg split brain getting to them. I think they got a little cocky and thought the win was already guaranteed so they overdove G2 and threw their huge lead. Idk about BLGs case though. I'm sure it's probably nerves. They don't wanna mess up because they're the favourites, and then end up messing up more. That's just a theory though.

Basically, they need new names up there for people to root for. They need a trophy under new players' names to create idols to follow. TES and LNG look really strong atm, and you can't count out BLG.

Saw a Chinese personality made a video after Worlds last year discussing the problem of LPL. Besides policies that don't promote gaming in young age, LPL players, unlike most LCK players, could make turns to being streamers and earn more than being a pro. Lots of rookies just shifted into streamers once they got enough popularity. The older legends aren't playing anymore, and rookies are just finding ways to get famous instead of winning. Uzi was supposed to be LPL's Faker, but his career is short lived due to injury. Xiaohu and Jackeylove are inconsistent, 369 and GALA are not flexible, Knight chokes a lot and has lots of allegations against him, Doinb is notoriously a drama queen... and the most popular players in LPL are ironically Korean imports like Rookie, TheShy, Scout and Ruler. It's not like the lack of performance alone necessarily killed the viewership, but the fact that viewers could feel that most of the pros are just playing for paychecks instead of having ambitious goals, which is arguably the same thing that happens to LCS and LEC.

Isn't Bin like a perfect fit to be a face of LPL? Skills? Check. Macro? Check. Flashy gameplay? Check. Personality? Not Showmaker or Doinb but for a pro still quite entertaining. Idolised? Most young upcoming toplaners look to to either him or Zeus too. Clutch factor and performing under pressure? Check. No drama and shady background? Check. Like I don't get what he is missing other than a Worlds title? Why he is not as popular as Korean players?

I mean since 2022 LCK won 2 worlds 1 msi 1 ewc 1 asian games while LPL won 2 msi only, so its kinda understandable why chinese fans are somewhat upset

He's talking about which fanbase western or the Chinese? because according to their own stats their average viewership is +3M and peak at +50M so losing 200K on a final will not affect them too much and for the Chinese fans it would be weird to stop supporting when they've never had so many good Chinese players in their region.

I think LNG will go to London. Scout and Gala are at their best. Other members of LNG are also good. I'm not sure about BLG. Bin, Elk are really good, but On's form is the worst. The replacement of Xun and Wei is also big variable. TES is also good. But still, GenG is REALLY REALLY powerful. They are next level. BUT GenG is a team that has never been to the finals, so .... not sure. 😅 And T1 is also getting to its best. If T1 can only beat GenG, I think there is no opponent. However, since their compatibility with GenG is the worst, T1's performance depends on that problem.

They are barely getting any young players, and theyve just had their worst performance in TI history ever, and in the current big tourney rn, no CN team got out of the tourney's Swiss stage. A Mobile MOBA has taken over Dota 2, and it's currently rivaling LoL there
