As an American, I really wanted to see an NA team make it to semi-finals, and that first match had me really hopeful. That being said, they were so close, only having lost 3-2 in a bo5 against one of the best teams in Korea, which I believe did show hope for the future of the LCS. I hope they keep this FLY roster together and continuing to train and maybe at MSI or Worlds 2025 they will get even further. I am forever a T1 fan, but I am now a FLY fan as well, after seeing them put up 1 hell of a fight against Gen G.

I‘ve been watching league since S4, and I've never seen, any NA team, playing like this at worlds, I despised most NA teams because they just lack the passion and aggression in their games, I remember TSM went home 0/6 group stage, they played like they are intermediate bots. Seeing how Fly played today, they went down like warriors, they came prepared and they got respected by GENG, and even more by fans all over the world. I was watching the LPL stream and I could see Chinese fans cheering for Fly because they are shocked by how good Fly played here, everyone loves it when the underdog outperforms their expectations, and they are still young, they will lead the future of LCS.

Remember GENG had the hardest Swiss schedule and still came out 3-0. They were looked at as the best team in the world, while BLG looked like shell of themselves when they faced G2, losing to T1 and LNG( who somehow got stomped by WBG) putting themselves in the 2-2 bracket. FFS they were even struggling with PSG. I'd say this performance against GENG is more impressive than anything G2 has shown this worlds. Also note FQ also had a close series against HLE, taking a game, and even having a good chance to win the series 2-0.

And dont say he only cooks as scale champs, when the dude is without a doubt the best laner in the world. You can say the dude is not the best under pressure, and has very robotic style of playing with not good creativity tho

great preparations from fly and what a poor performance from gen at the same time. kiin during the interview said they didn't believe the series would go to the silver scrapes which means they just underestimated fly from the beginning. i don't know whether this is the result of them being rested too long since the last game but they really do need to focus on especially against t1 even though they have a good track record domestically

Honestly, after the match I felt like GenG didn't deserve this win. It felt someone else playing on their behalf. I was mad they putting this kind of weak play while they were supposed to be the favourite of the tournement. On the other side Flyquest just put on a show. Massu and Busio was amazingly fun to watch. I'm so sad it didn't end up with winning the series. GG Flyquest, that was a good fight.

The problem is is that each region has their own levels of competition and metas. LCK is as competitive as it gets for league, those players apply big brain logic and extreme map awareness into their games. Korea/China has relatively similar strategies and meta, therefore generally the games between those regions are similar, competitive and close. NA/EU like to play around and take chances with different champs and strats which is essentially the same as gambling, and on top of that they struggle to close games out. GenG lost 2 games because theyve been playing the same meta champs for the past few months, but you have to give them credit for quickly figuring out a way around Flys champ gambling strategy by doing the same thing as them but with applying all their knowledge of the game and knowledge of the players they just faced. FQ fought well but they didnt have the adaptiveness that it takes to win the games. GenG def deserved the win because they played fly at their own game and still won.
