Wow! I have never seen Cael lose like that, but my goodness was that an awesome match even though it didn't produce a U.S. victory. The judges certainly screwed up that 2-2 call though. Should have just been 2 for the Russian.

Damn the Russians are so distinct and so effective in their style of wrestling. They are incredible. You see this here and with the Saitiev Bros, Fadsaev, Tsargush etc. They are really not the best athletes, they are not the best conditioned, they just no exactly what to do and when to do it. They incorporate a style that renders conditioning not nearly as important. They stay calm, and the techniques are so ingrained in their muscle memory they know exactly where to push, where to pull, where to be, etc. Lots and lots of drilling at half speed.

Not only was it a picture perfect crotch lift, but then Sajidov ended up with the takedown and none of the judges awarded the one point. 2 and 2 was total BS, but not awarding the takedown was even worse. People shitting on Sanderson like he didn’t completely change wrestling styles to compete internationally, he was a folkstyle phenom. If American schools and youth programs only wrestled Freestyle/Greco Cael would of been undefeated ay the international level too, dude was a takedown machine he just wasn’t good at the turn game freestyle focuses on. He used his TD and Folkstyle skills and became a Gold medalist in free style at the Olympics, quit acting like he’s some sort of scrub.
@zenly_csgo

dud watch at David Taylor who even uses folkstyle manner turns and other stuff at freestyle. Amazing folk wrestler who beats all best at freestyle. Folkstyle isnt exuse. Sajidov just more technical at defence and offence. Im from russia and DT is my favourite wrestler after Sadulaev because DT shows that folk stuff which i wasnt saw before and most considered too risky at freestyle. IF guy good freestyler - he is. I think DT is much better and KS was lucky to make his gold olimpics medal
