Doubt it as you can only run into people with similar weapon lvls as you. And if you look at most of the fights he was taking barely any damage from anything while 2 hitting most people. Not sure how as I have 60 vig and still get 1-2 hit with 35-40% damage reduction in most defense categories

Having so many different ashes available for different weapons allows builds to be far more diverse, especially when they sort out the damage on some stuff so people don’t gravitate towards one build I think Elden ring will be the most fun and customisable pvp in all of from softs history.

I think this is lvl 80 PvP with only like +6 to +8 Moonveils. The issue is at meta level with + 10 everyone does so much damage. Lvl 80 is way more fun imo, also more places to invade.

Because most of these noobs entering a Fromsoft game level everything but vigor. They have the "leveling hp is useless because i'll still die in 2 hits!" mentality without realizing the backwards stupidity of that thought since leveling hp obviously means not dying in 2 hits. They also tend to have comically ridiculous stat distributions everywhere with no rhyme or reason that would make 0 sense for Fromsoft game veterans since they're trying to use all the weapons with their varied stat requirements. They're also extremely reliant on co-op cheesing everything so they end up not only with really dumb stat distributions, but also comically incompetent since they're not used to actually doing anything themselves (hence the constant running away). Basically, if you pump vigor and have minimum wielding stats for your desired weapon, you're already way ahead of 90% of the game's playerbase in terms of stat efficiency. Most players even all the way up to the level 70s to 90s range still don't reach 1k hp due to this and they also die super quickly to every boss with so low competency that as a co-oper you wonder why you're bothering babysitting these people and as an invader you wonder why you're bothering to put up with these people.

It's because many people are aiming for op RL 150 hybrid builds shown off by larger soultubers and of course level vigor last. Meanwhile those of us aiming for 120 have 60 vigor 30 levels earlier. Hell with the soreseal I have 60 vigor and 55 strength at RL 100

I suck at this game especially PvP, and I also love colossal weapons, as a result was spending half my time struggling to get a hit in without getting fucked up against people(again I suck and my build is likely shit). So when I figured out I could put bloodhound step on my greatsword, my level of enjoyment skyrocketed. I am speed now. I still lose a lot, but now with style :D

The great sword is definitely a difficult weapon to use for 1v1s because of the heavily telegraphed swings, for invasions however if you duel wield colossal swords you might be able to find a combo that can 1 shot KO people with jumping attacks. If you have a strength build you should give the Night Rider’s Glaive a shot, amazing move set with tons of range and an S in strength scaling if you infuse it with Heavy.

A valid take, only if Hosts realize the same. Bloodhound Step, Moonveil, Rivers of Blood, these are the easiest means to counter a Host and their phantoms, so of course invaders flock to them.

You know what? I got a theory on why Oroboro gets so many noob invasions. I bet his weapons are around +7-8 at around level 60 since he's invading Caelid. My theory is that these new guys got the free +8 rapier from Rogier while not giving their own weapons the proper boost they need. Because of that, they prolly get match-made with +8 weapons in mind, even if that isn't what they have equipped. Same stuff as that one lightning spear at Sen's Fortress in DS1.

@@Dungpie64 Huh? That's a little Tinfoil Hat-ish of you. All because the game isn't perfectly the way you want it to be doesn't mean that PvP is systematically being discouraged. That's just silly. Bloodborne PvP was extremely fun to me; I still go back to play it every once in a while. The reason why the Arenas in DSIII was a DLC was due to so many people requesting that they add Arenas back to the game. FromSoft just gave the community what they wanted. Lastly, if anything, the only reason why FromSoft patches their games in attempt to balance them in the first place is most likely due to all of the data/criticism collected from PvP.

Even tho xebo seems like a hater ill say that bloodhound step is a MUST if you are an invader, i try tk always have it in one of my equiped weapons. But all in all is not a sure win anything it ll just make it a lot easier to repositiob when you are in a 2v1 or 3v1 situation which is 95% of your invasions. Anything else will highly depend on your build but usually u want something to do high damage, something to roll catch and something for close quarters. I usually play strenght build, for me great sword is the high damage it also has great roll catch capabilities but for chasedowns i use halberds (commander standart is a personal favorite) i also have dual beastman curved swords, dual spears (pike, partisan), the big great star hammer, giant crusher and a set of tools for pressuring. My advice would be to be a coward as much as possible, force all the 1v1 u can and in any other case try to cover yourself with the monsters or traps. If u are 1v1 just go all in, 8/10 they wont be able to perform alone. Mages are your worst enemy specially en 3v1, always play around obstaclea so they miss their spells, finally dont be afraid to usr bombs, explosives, poison knives, anythibg to pressure and provoke since you are most likely getting an unfair battle, so BE unfair

The problem here is that most status builds are broken right now (bleed builds the most from what I experienced, and behind that madness builds I would say), even if you dodge properly you get the status effect and very fast, making impossible to have a fair melee fight. I suppose they will patch that and I hope soon.

I wish I could go back to when this community was smaller. Just temporarily… I feel like all I see is “nerf this” “x thing is busted” and to a point I get it. Where did you get the 2nd Naginata, pls (think that's what the spear katana type weapon is called?) can you farm that, or did someone drop a 2nd for you or something? That's what I had to do to get my 2nd Utchi. Wish some of the more iconic weapons were farmable or buyable infinitely in this game. I guess we can change scaling on the fly though, so having multiples isn't as important as in previous games. If you want to dual them though, having two is obvs needed.

Oro is using the Soreseal, but the players seem to do very little damage to him. Why though? Is he also wearing the Greatshield talisman that provides 20% resistance? I'm pvping at lvl 85 with +7 weapons and I get chunked often 1 hit doing half my HP from 38 VIG. A bit confusing, since I'm also wearing decent armor.

I can actually see them removing Bloodhound's Step from the colossal weapons because holy shit that is ridiculous... Here's an idea for you Oro. Think you'd be able to pull off a bow only build? Their scaling caps out at D/D (except the Golem's Greatbow which is C/D) so you'd need to rely a lot on status procs to have kill pressure but it could be fun. I'm considering trying it for PvE after finishing Elden Ring earlier for the first time but might wait until the bows get buffed? Would love to hear your opinion on it.

I killed the Tree Sentinel, wandered around the starting region, and found Caelid, where the only weapon I have that can actual deal damage is my Tree Sentinel weapon lol. I have just been hanging out there, trying to survive, and it's been crazy, but the area is so cool!

Great video, Would really appreciate a breakdown of ideal level for invaders for each area of the map if that makes sense. Like whats the best SL for royal lucaria academy vs. Weeping peninsula etc. I think weapon upgrade level if that has any affect on match making would crucial to know as well. +5 sl 40 at x location is ideal etc.

Extensively, but only them (well, he made a visit to the Volcano Manor at one point, but I don't think he got much from it since he was trying to rush that portion on-stream). Oro is only doing so well here because he's very built for PVP: he pumped Vigor and he knows how to get the most out of his weaponry with minimal stat investment.

Assuming from his last vid these are probably sl125 invasions. They're getting one-shot bc this game soft cap for health is way higher, same for dmg. Most ppl under level vigor but can probably one combo Oro if they were a little more competent, i.e. moonveil, frost stomp(pre patch), ect.

Bloodhound step is an excellent tool for invaders. It really allows you to even up the scoreboard against these overlevelled phantoms and get out of blenders. Not sure how fun it would be in duels though

I never really noticed it one shotting everyone. I think it's more so majority are running low vigor so one shots are more common.

It looks like Flaming Strike only combos if they're farther away. The flame from the initial flame sweep has a little travel time - but the swing of your weapon doesn't. If you can get them with the lingering edge or the left end of the arc, you get the followup weapon hit. On the other hand, if you're closer to them when you start, they have less time to react to the fire.

Flaming Strike combos if you do a charge attack after the initial flames... And that charge attack does a good solid chunk of damage on it's own.

@@dihnsfire Not always (as you can see in the video), it's not a guaranteed combo at all ranges. If someone is directly next to you when they get hit by the wave (earlier in the animation of casting it), they'll have time to roll away before you can hit them with the followup. If they get hit by the edge of the flame after the projectile's travel time - or at the left end of the sweep near the end of its animation - you'll have less of your own casting animation left to play during their hitstun and you can more reliably followup. Looks like you need proper spacing to make it a true combo.
