Just when I made my 5th character and Strength Build this drops. Perfect timing. So far I love Godfrey's Axe

ngl godfreys axe isnt too good in pvp, it can do some big damage and stagger, but even with the skill, thats all its got. The L2 can be jumped over or easily dodged and the heavy combo is too slow. The only situation I found to make it work is invading in caves and dungeons, ambushing people.

@@Juggs009 not just that bro out side of the ash of war the scaling on that weapon is so poor for a weapon that has 42 strength req it only has a c scaling and the fact that colossal axes in general movesets are absolute dog water it kinda pisses me off that this is a boss weapon held by Godfrey the first elden lord which I’d say is the embodiment of strength over any other boss in elden ring but has a C scaling

Suggestion, the axe you get from the large guys where you fight the first black lion in stormveil IS a better weapon than godfrey's, the only reason to use godfrey's is because "I want to", "It looks nice", and "The ash is cool", and thats it, the axe that drops from the dudes near the lion can have its ashes swapped, it can be buffed, you can change its scaling, and its a really damn good quality/dex weapon by default, it has the exact same moveset as godfrey's.

Nah as an offline solo player I just gave up on surviving anything after a point and decided to master dancing with death instead. It was rather funny saying F it to 35 vigor at Malenia and moving those 25 points to strength.

11:49 RL1 Vigor is 300 HP. This guy ate 336 damage to take 2/3 of his healthbar. He probably had about 500 HP in total. That's 15 Vigor. 15:14 This guy ate 447 damage and died instantly. I can assume this is either 11 or 12 Vigor at 414 and 434 HP respectively. 17:10 This guy ate 572 damage and died. This is exactly 17 Vigor. 17:21 This guy ate 352 damage, which was approximately 76.71% of his healthbar. This gives us an HP bar of ~459 Health, putting us in the ballpark of 12-13 Vigor at 455-476 respectively. 20:13 This guy ate 702 damage and died instantly. This is likely 23 Vigor putting them at 738 Vigor, but they have Baldachin's Blessing in their inventory giving them exactly 701.1 HP (which gets automatically rounded up by the system) Vigor: Checked.

Vigor means nothing in pve if you can dodge. Pvp is different and not what my build is planned on so one hit deaths are expected. Vigor checks are just a goofy meme

The vigor thing is so baffling to me. None of them are one-shotting you. So alllll these points they're putting into damage or even endurance for armor (there was some Bullgoat dude with 568 health) don't at all make up for a lack of vigor and won't ever equate to a direct counter for high vigor builds. However, slightly less AR in exchange for high vigor will constantly one-shot all these sub 800 or so health dudes, still. People are really betting on the wrong horse in this game with their builds.

It's because ashes of war scale with weapon upgrade level and not stat investment. So if you maximize the upgrade level in a particular "weapon bracket" stuff like giant hunt and what not are going to nearly always one shot in that range. Damage in general just needs to be tuned in ER. I'm fine with high damage but if I can just win an invasion or kill an invader if I'm tauntered while leveling a build just by pressing a button, then something is off. Jeenine and jund have also thought similarly.

The thing is some people just... play the game. Their build isn't designed for pvp, that is the nature of invasions. You don't always get pvp players, you sometimes get people who are trying to pve with their friends. The reason you see them overrepresented in these clips is because those are the fights he wins. Shocking, I know. A youtuber who puts in fights he wins against people who aren't actually built for pvp instead of just showing the honest truth where he loses multiple fights against people who are built to fight back.

@@jonpaul6948 built for pvp doesn't matter though, just play smart and only engage the invader on your terms. if everyone has a weapon, there is no reason you shouldn't be capable of mopping the floor with an invader. There are 2 to 3 people vs 1 invader, if everyone can co-ordinate you will almost never lose unless it's a completely min maxed twink build and even then the odds are in the host's favor. The problem is, people don't level their HP and that's on them tbh. I am all for the invasion timer between invasions being addressed, if I ever get a host I have already killed I either switch zones or leave their world because of this. if upon death from an invader or defeating one, the host should be granted a 35-45 minute timer between the next one. It would literally solve the problem.

It's almost a requirement, unless you're specifically testing yourself on a "never get hit in a boss fight" run. I personally have underinvested in vigor, not because I was going for more damage, but because I wanted to use certain incantations or weapons that simply required a big stat investment 🤷‍♂️

The host dies and instead of respawning at their grace, they respawn in Altus. The death has to happen for it to work.

@@swift101ninja I expect a harsh nerf coming for many of those. Collosal and great spear PS crouch pokes were clearly not intentional; heavy thrusting swords have specifically neutered roll attacks for reference and collosals and PS great spears need the same treatment. Also, the hit on ultra crouch pokes is way wider than the actual sword poke, even from oro’s POV many of his crouch pokes missed but hit. It’s absolutely absurd collosal rolling attacks can’t be parried anymore though. Anything spammable gets countered by parries but now people just monkey spam crouch pokes and can’t be parried. Whether crouch poke is reactable or or not becomes moot if you can’t set up a parry for it or trade it and no one actually rolls it while the person using it simply spams it against honest casual players without fear of retaliation. Strength stars of ruin?

It takes timing to pull off anyway, you can't just poke straight into giant hunt. It won't catch. You gotta know how long to delay it and with the need to delay, the opponent has a split second to plan their roll as they're recoiling from the poke.

There's an op combo you can do with the greatsword. Use the roll attack, shoot them with the repeating crossbow and sleep bolts, then use giant hunt. You can't roll out of it unless you don't get put to sleep, but since you get shot three times you're probably gonna take a nap.

Flaming Strike is my favorite AoW. It’s great in Invasions and duels. It’s funny that a lot of people do the same thing I do when I come across BHS users. I just ignore them unless it’s the host. If all of them are using BHS, I *might* try to kill them, or I either run away to enemies for backup, or if I’m not feeling it, finger sever out. Can’t wait until that brokeness is patched.

i'm pretty sure elden ring's invasion scaling is broken right now. i started a new character for a co-op run and we were getting invaded by peeps who were obviously leagues ahead of us in rune levels.

People claim it's actually weapon level that determines match-making. So most likely people over-leveling and keeping their max weapon level low.

Both weapon level and rune level are used to determine PvP match making. You will not get invaded by people who are higher rune level or weapon upgrade than you. You probably just have bad stat distribution or are sleeping on great early level taslismans like radagons scar seal

You can only invade people between -10% of your RL and 20 + 10% above you. Oftentimes the invader will actually be fighting hosts higher leveled than they are. What you mistake as higher RL is likely just a superior build.

290 HP is the minimum you can get on a host with specific setups (Start Astrologer for 9 Vigor, or 396 HP; 9% reduction from Twinsage Crown, 15% from Primal Glintstone, 5% from Baldachin's Blessing, total 29% penalty), but lower level hosts summoning you can potentially tank your HP further. Either way... How can you go that long with that little HP? Seriously, people...

I played as a mage for most of the game before missing how it felt to dodge and smack things, and it's more just a case of conservative play until you're relatively sure you won't be surprised and get hit by their moveset. Mind you, this only matters for PvE. PvP is pretty pointless if you're playing the no vigor game.

I use a pure dragon build and Greyoll's Roar & Borealis's Mist do more for me than either of the scarlet rot spells. Everybody expects scarlet rot, so melting their health bar as they run to get in the free hit can earn you some kills. Or just screaming 'sod off' in the dragon tongue with Roar can be a good way to start the fight vs the rushers.

Guy with 300 Vigor probably always has 2 buddies in his world, hiding by the Grace while the others do all the work. I've been summoned by a few like that, but as soon as I see they don't actually play with their summons, I just leave.

Man it sucks that colossal weapons should be the bread and butter of str builds, yet every str video out there is using colossal sword pokes/halberds/spears and nothing else. I can understand them tho, ive been trying really hard to like colossal weapons and greathammers but the damage they do just isnt justified when you look at their bad moveset and slow speed. Trading is not even optional for them anymore because so many faster and smaller weapons straight up outtrade them

I literally have a build quite similar to this but it's lvl 96 instead of 90 and instead of the greatsword it uses a lightning infused zwei with 45 dex and base strength Talismans are basically the same but I switched out the shard of alexander for prosthesis wearers Heirloom

@@anthonyl9126 you can actually jump it, but it has to be real premeditated. Latency and netcode makes it impossible to react jump to it. I just went pure faith build to throw bestial slings at meta pokers. Max cast speed makes it possible to hit them before they can poke you.

'Honest' in games like these refer to a build without broken or otherwise repeated powerful meta gimmick. It's from a term used in Fighting Games a lot. Street fighter V Ryu is an honest character. He does normal fireballs and punches people to win. Akuma does the same, but he also has a dive kick, jumping delayed fireballs, 50/50 grab attacks and other gimmicks he relies on to get the win. Akuma I not a honest character. UGS poke is both a repeated single gimmick and super meta, its not honest at all.

so simulating this build, using the stats he has the great sword i cant get to equal exactly 650 but its close using flame art at +20, its way to low otherwise so unless he had a buff i didn't see at the end he has to be using +20 or +19 weapons edit found my flaw forgot to account for 2 handing with fire not flame art at +17
