Sadly, Dolohov not even has half the power he was supposed to have. In the books he was a force to be reckoned and he had most of this fight quite controlled while being alone (his ally got instantly defeated), but in the movies the only death eater which are clarifed as powerful besides Voldemort are either Bellatrix or Snape, when Dolohov was a total threat to the most powerful.

The movie's missing the whole Voldemort's name taboo plot. Though they did shoot the scene later on where Ron explains all this to Harry and Hermione, but was cut. Hence how Rowle and Dolohov knew the trio were in the café, cuz Hermione uttered Voldemort at 0:34. And why in Part 2, Harry suddenly starts referring to Voldemort as You-Know-Who.

I’m just rereading DH and it all makes sense now. Literally after the Ministry fell, Voldemort made his name taboo. Notice how Hermione said his name and Rowle and Dolohov appeared. The same thing happens in the book (except it’s Harry who says it). In the book, while they hide in Sirius’s house, Death Eaters are posted outside (because they are being triggered but can’t pinpoint where the triggering is coming from; the house is protected by the Fidelius Charm).

I dont know why, when hermione use obliviate, I think it is a worse feeling than being killed. Like, I'm pretty sure that Dolohov would rather die than being obliviated. It's a torture for him for the rest of his life, like don't remember about his life of wizard world, part of death eaters and all that stuff. It's like a torture. IT'S SATISFIED SOMEHOW to see him ended up like that.

the movies and books are extremely vague on how the spell works. generally it's suggested that it's used to remove specific or recent memories. it destroys lockhart's mind, but that's because ron's wand was damaged. hermione uses it on her parents and the implication is that it only removes her from their memories, not everything else. and the ministry uses the spell freely to conceal the wizard world from ordinary people. it's not a torturing spell or intended to entirely wipe a person's mind, even if it could be used as such, and I doubt dolohov was so treated here
