This thespian was in EVERY way known to man, a REAL MAN! My parents grew up watching him,I grew up watching him, my grandparents remember him from the 40s as a dancer. Truly this man's legacy spanned over four generations.

Such a gentleman, fine actor and a modest man. One of his greatest strengths in my view was his superb intonation.

He really was what one can say perfect gentleman. So much smarter than he wanted to dare say because of how humble he was. The man could act or direct but he felt comfortable where he had more experience acting. I think he did a great job directing two Fantasy Island episodes but I could tell by another interview he felt a little uncomfortable doing both. I doubt he had low self esteem. I think he was really just very humble. He loved the States, Mexico & he knew it was one world not one nation. Very religious but not in fanatical way or some bigoted way so he would be your true Christian. His one regret was on Star Trek he was filming that movie but never met Shatner or filmed at all with him so it was months apart not in person. He took that part for low money while still filming Fantasy island for pretty good money. I believe he worked his entire life so he basically was up and down with salary but it was always very steady for him. He was worth 10 million in US but I believe he likely had money in Mexico and other places so probably had more like 50 million but he was certainly not poor but he came in early before actors were paid such huge money. That huge money is not worth it 40 million for a film or two months work? No one is worth that but as long as people will pay 20 bucks for a movie ticket, bad actors will just be handed tens of millions per film. It it were Jodie Foster or Ricardo Montalban filming, I'd say they are worth it but he is no longer with us which is sad but he lived a really good life to an old age for a man. Nearly 90.

In 1998, Pope John Paul II made him a Knight of the Order of St. Gregory the Great (KSG), the highest honor a Roman Catholic lay person can receive from the Church he was truely a gentleman and a great actor he will be missed

@@vianamendes1835 I had trouble locating it on youtube recently, but there was a video of Ricardo Montalban when he played a small role in what I believe to be a movie. In it, he was called "The Latin from Statin Island." Something about watching a young Ricardo getting his start in a big world before his fame was absolutely fantastic to watch.
