Aww this is sad. This came into my suggestions because I looked up those Dunkin Donuts commercials with Herve. "The Plain The Plain. No No, The Cinnamon The Cinnamon.". Those commercials were from around 1993, so it's also sad that he killed himself not that long after. I just don't understand how Herve can just shoot himself in the chest. People shoot themselves in the head because it's quick and there is no pain.

Joseph: he never said "Ze plane!" he exclaimed "DE plane!" In French, there is no TH sound. So we schoolkids were taught only ONE of 4 different ways to say it, depending on which school you went to. Like Herve, I was taught "De" for "the". Others will say "Ze", "Ve" and rarely but occasionally heard "Fe". Thanks for posting this. Beyond his famous voice/accent he was a very good actor. But sometimes we can't pay attention past the aforementioned. His acting skills are very evident if you watch the awkward "Julie" episodes and then watch Herve and what he did with his character. Most people think he was playing himself. Not so, and I was guilty of that early on. Yes, he is sorely missed on the show the seasons where he's gone just aren't the same, they're no longer fun. RIP Herve'.
@e.e.e Жыл бұрын
Oh and I'm correcting you because it was his DE ("deux") plane that made the line iconic. We, kids who were taught "deux" for "the" cringed when we heard other kids say "zeuh". 😉

Legend my ass. HV was EXREMELY fortunate to have had the brief success in Hollywood that he had. After his appearance in MWTGG, he quickly burned through that money. He was (by all accounts) very difficult to work with on that set (MWTTGG), Roger Moore literally refused to be in the same room with HV off set. After HV's brief success with MWTGG, he was basically unemployed & nearly homeless when an offer from Fantasy Island came around. Aaron Spelling was the producer of FA, at the time a literal God in Hollywood. There are so many roles for French midgets in Hollywood, HV should've considered himself lucky (NOT). 3 years on, HV had the balls to DEMAND more money. AS said "NO" & that was that. HV was basically fired & spent the rest of his nonworking life in North Hollywood. Burger King commercials, give me a break, FFS. I have no sympathy for this guy. He had a "so so" acting career handed to him b/c of his size (MWTGG, FA) & he basically blew it out his ass.
