I think we need a standalone show on Bruce Prichard. So many ppl are closed mouthed about how much of a prick he actually was and how many ppl he buried behind the scenes in meetings, and then on his show where he just lies and rewrites history. I think someone needs to put the spotlight on him and start putting some truths out about him. Loving the show so far as a longtime wrestling fan. Keep speaking the truth,

@@karmaisreal261 look into his time with WWE films and how he made tons off of writing scripts under a pseudonym and then, as the person in charge of developing the scripts into films, he would buy his own films and make them. According to Freddie Prinze Jr, it was about $20 mil of WWEs money he spent in paying HIMSELF for the scripts and then making them into films. Apparently Vince was made aware of it and acted like $20 mil was chump change. But I'll reckon that's why he was fired back when he went to TNA, not the runaround he gave on his podcast (I don't even believe he gave a clear answer anyway). The dude is the absolute epitome of carny rassling con men that gave the business such a bad rep for ages.

@@sithari518 Idk how factual all of that is, but the reason for his firing in 2008 was because he brought a gun to the office lmao. Freaked Stephanie out & everything, it's well documented that was the reason.

Nice podcast. I see that the channel is growing. 🤙 Always listen to this before going to sleep. Miss the good ol’ days where WWE had stardom and excellent characters. Now, every “superstar” is generic. Also, Rene, you in contact with Muhammad Hassan? He was a great heel on RAW during your SD days.

I love this podcast. I especially enjoy the little clips of Rene wrestling to show what he's referring to! I gotta say, considering Rene has been in like 3 or 4 of the WWE games during his run (way more than most guys) and they even asked him to voice himself in some of the career/story modes, he should have been the pick to represent the company during those video game events.

I'm surprised to hear the reaction Rene got in Halifax. I know he's a heel, but I figure most of the crowd would know he's Emile's son. I wasn't watching wrestling a lot at the time, but I was thrilled to know a local guy (sort of, Rene's from New Brunswick, and I'm from Nova Scotia) was wrestling in the WWE and a success.

@16:14 completely agree the current crowd of fans is toxic, woke, and wouldn't know good wrestling if it was to return. They actively fight against anything that adds reealism, sex appeal, etc even though other shows do it because it might be non PC. It's pathetic two people beat each other to near death in the ring but they better keep the language clean and respect the ladies.

This is off topic but I’m gonna mention it here. Thoughts on Orton and Riddle. Been catching up on it and discovered that tag team is decent in my humble opinion. I have actually served Riddle at the bar (he bought orange juice) and he was not that “bro” persona at all, he didn’t speak like that. In fact I didn’t know who he was, this was just before he signed, but he told me he was in UFC and I thought that was really cool. Looking back at his career it’s really interesting and he does some great moves in wrestling. Now with Orton who I’m a new fan of after watching a recent interview with Orton he seemed really cool. If you think about it possibly the best thing in WWE right now. So Rene what do you think of them? Btw I watched the whole premier and enjoyed it, you guys can’t really get it wrong to be fair!

I may not know everything about wrestling, but I have studied wrestlers and wrestling from all over the world for several decades, and I do know enough to tell when something is good or bad, and when it is being done correctly and when it isn't. Especially in modern times, you don't have to be a wrestler to know shit about wrestling. Having that attitude toward people who work in other segments of the industry is not a good attitude to have. A wrestler is nothing without announcers and commentators to call the match, a ring crew to set the ring up, writers and bookers to set up the angles, reporters and reviewers to put them over, and fans to spend their money on them. The performers are just one part of the industry, and all parts are necessary for anyone to make money in the business. One is no better than the other.

Hearing about Vince and Shawn, and knowing about Patterson (and the ring boy scandals of the past), I think there's a very good chance of secret homosexual shtuff leading to pushes. Makes sense when Rene said Pat signed Rock. Rock, obviously, is willing to do anything to get to the top (you sell your soul, and smoke quite a bit of sausages to attain fame and fortune in Hollywood). Wouldn't be surprised if it was the same with Cena, and now Roman. Vince, Obviously, likes roided, big, young guys. Must be for a reason 🤔

I did not like Rene's take on people who review wrestling. It was very presumptive and disrespectful. I do not yet have a KZbin channel, but I am one of those people he is referring to. I have never taken a bump as a professional due to the fact that I broke my neck six weeks after graduating high school. I would gladly wrestle for free and spend every night on the road if I could. It is all I've ever wanted to do. I love the professional wrestling business, and have devoted over 30 years of my life to it, despite having no avenue to get a real job in the industry. I am very critical of a lot of the things I see today because most of it isn't very good. There is no psychology. Guys are taking too many unnecessary risks, due to the fact that they don't understand basic psychology. They are throwing shitty forearms because most of them can't even throw a punch. Half of the current AEW roster looks like they have never lifted a weight. Most of them will never get any better because they have the same attitude that Rene had here. They all believe that everything they are doing is the best thing that has ever been done, and can't take even the slightest amount of criticism. How can a person get better if they are unable to take criticism and refuse to admit that they make mistakes?
