In 1978 I walked into an El Paso, TX Yamaha store to buy a baby-blue 250cc Trials bike, and rode out on a lightly used 1976 Sulfur Yellow Goldwing. I was 19 years old, and that motorcycle opened my soul to a whole new way of life. You have no idea how badly I miss that bike. No idea. Thank you for this reminder.

Hello once again Victor ! I have just purchased an early Honda GL1000 with the intent of a future Cafe project in-store for it. That was almost were the story was about to end, after having a number of doubts about my design limitations, that was, until I remembered your feature piece here ! You have restored my excitement in the project, and put it away until the completion of my CX500 Cafe project this winter ! Thank you again Victor !

I always believe every week you guys can bring me the surprise of each cafe racer project and this week, you make it, too. This time, the Honda GL 1000 Gold Wing is truly the most special one I've ever seen, as you mentioned the "fuel tank" is not the "tank" to contain the gasoline, and the real "place" for gasoline to stay in is right in the bottom of the motorcycle. It's really surprising to know that, and it also increase the difficulty to remodel the motorbike. Besides, what this project surprise me is that the designers regard this motorcycle as a boutique and them designed and made it as a true boutique. As always, I look forward to the next project that you're gonna bring to us!!

Wow! what a gorgeous looking machine with elegant lines and functional geometry. From an electronic driven square box to a mechanical aerodynamic flowing forward style. Like a metamorphosis waiting to happen. The gas tank and the rider position are very appealing with the new position of the gear shift and rear brake pedals. The Webber carbs and new exhaust makes the bike sound sweet and swift. Even the padding of seat ends perfectly along the frame. Thank you Racer TV for showing us the best machines out there!

It truly had never occurred to me that a Goldwing could be used in a Cafe Racer project. I always found it massive and the type of engine seems strange . It is a great bike, handling it on the road especially is a delight with that power, but its design and technical complexity always seemed a very large constraints for a Cafe Racer. That's why I was never interested in looking for Goldwinds on the internet, much less contemplating one for a project, although I always thought that making a long trip in one of them must be something incredible. Only once I have driven one on the road in a hundred kilometers and was a great experience. It is good to be mistaken and be surprised with such a beautiful motorcycle. How to believe that Porche carburetors could look so good? Only on such a massive bike. Definitely the fairing was something indispensable in a bike of those dimensions and curiously makes it look elegant and delicate. Tjaša Deu so great !

I owned one ( secondhand ) for 7 years & it was the best bike I ever had... with the low centre of gravity & a low seat height, it was easy to ride & even easy to put on its centre-stand by a young biker weighing only 115lbs at the time !! Whisper-quiet exhaust was nice too... Handlebar fairing & Krauser panniers were the extent of my mods... though I did re-build the engine from scratch as the primary chain was worn... the shaft drive was hard on the rear tyre too but I rode it hard anyways 😁 I also resprayed it jet black with gold pinstriping & fancy badges / decals... 😎 It was a rare enough bike here ( in Ireland ) & it turned many heads... 😘

Thanks for finding a nice cafe racer built on a Goldwing. I don't know how much used Goldwings go for in Portugal, but in the US they are practically free. I've often wondered what could be done with one. This example is beautiful, but the amount of work involved makes even the very low cost of the bike a questionable bargain. As always, excellent video.

Linda maquina, percebi que nas ultimas semanas as apresentações estão em alto nível, vai ser difícil escolher a melhor do ano de 2017, com certeza vai ser uma escolha definida em pequenos detalhes e a pontuação bem acirrada.

I had a '75 model back in 1981. Not nearly as nice as this but still nice. I put an exhaust on that I made myself and to this day, it's the best sounding bike I've ever heard.
