Unlike the usual, the custom Yamaha Virago presented on this video, is not exactly a work from a professional.
I see it more as a Father and Sons project.
This is the work, of Craig Jackson and his Sons, Max, and Sam.(@craigjackson512)
Although they built 3 custom bikes, this video is about one my favorites.
A beautiful Cafe/Bobber Yamaha XV750 Virago, built for Sam who is Craig's younger son.
And I hope you like it.

You have to admire builders like the Jackson's that push the envelope and think outside the box in creating this wonderful looking Yamaha XV750 Virago. By taking the best features of a Cafe Racer with a touch of a Bobber influence they created a new segment in the customization of motorcycles. Thanks to you, Racer TV, in showcasing this beautiful Yamaha perhaps other builders will follow suit in mixing styles together coming up with different concepts of a Cafe Racer. Maybe Racer TV's audience can coin a new name like Bob's Cafe, or Cafe Bob for this style of bike. Perhaps you could start a poll if enough viewers give names they would like to see given to this type of style. Can you imagine if Racer TV and your audience influencing a completely new naming convention in motorcycling? WOW!

This Virago is certainly cutting-edge in the style department…. a very sharp bike! The solo seat, I’m not too fond of, but, on this bike, it fits perfectly! They have done a great job on 5AM. This really is a stunning bike, I’m a street bike guy. I love the hayabusa, the zx14, the old Kawasaki z’s but this bike has got me wanting to build one of my own. It’s gorgeous and really just flows well. Beautiful machine guys

Their attention-to-detail in all-areas certainly paid-off . I have a Brit-ified (Vincent-ish) 82 TR1 XV1000 , I am starting to think ' this-style' since an upside-down front-end came my way . 5 AM Probably the time of day they finished doing all that "HeadBangging" work to make it look "Simple", "Simple" is never "Easy", but you're right as always, dropping that seat gives it a bit more depth(pardon the pun) you become part of the bike instead of "Wobbling" about on top of it. I did one a bit back, but that was out of necessity, it was for a very nice young lady & instead of "Chrome" I did all the "Jewelry" in Copper, & I'm very pleased to say it looked awesome. As always another excellent bike, presentation & even more ideas I can steal for my future builds, thank you my friend & ride safe.

Yeah! We lined the seat with the bottom of the tank out of necessity as well. It just put a lot of weight on the hands and you couldn’t hug the bike the way you wanted to. Same kind of thing with the coves in the tank. You can really tuck in there.

@@JamSpreadson That'sone of the reasons I don't like a lot of "StreetFighters", but like Victor said It gives it that "Stand Out" quality & that's what "Custom" is all about, not like a lot of these guys that call themselves "Professional Bike Builders" that just put a few bits from a different bike on & charge a fortune, it's a really nice job & most definitely something to be proud of. I have some future competition for you in the shape of my Granddaughter she's 10, but she's been building for a couple of years, we have built her 3 bikes that she had a proper hand in designing & building, her "Stunt Bike" is proper wicked, we built the "Aluminium" frame & put a "Modified" Yamaha RD125 engine in it, she even "Machined" some of the new ratio gears, shes going to be an excellent builder, just like yourself, she can kick arse on track, but she's autistic so she may never be able to get a licence to ride on the road. Ride safe & all the best for the future.

@@JamSpreadson I don't, I'm an Analog" kind of guy & a "One Man Band" with enough work to keep me busy well into next year, however, my Princess wants to do a build for next years, "Bike Shed" exhibition, so that could be our first, she's got a good eye, she wants to do something like the "Copper" one we did or even "Nicol" plated, a Cafe Racer just in her size but with a full-size engine, it will definitely be an interesting build, I'm currently teaching her to use "AutoDesk Inventor" & she's a natural. No, we will feature the build on somewhere, it will give me the opportunity to show off my incredibly talented granddaughter, thanks, mate.

This is probably the most appealing ‘V’ I have ever seen. I’ve never understood, or liked, the high seat mount that so many go for in their builds. I want to be seated ‘in’ the bike, not perched atop it! The resulting lower COG makes for much better handling, as well. I did notice - immediately - the battery location, and as someone else stated, it’s aesthetically negative, so I look forward to seeing the improvement. Lastly, but to what matters the most to me.. what did you do with the engine? It sounds ‘cammed’ and more powerful, which I’ve always thought is exactly what it needs. Glad to see you featured on this channel! Congratulations Sam, on a nice build, and to your Dad, and brother, as well! Nice Work! I travel to TX rather frequently, and would love to visit your shop. Keep Up the Great Work!

Thank you David! I agree! The chop has a bit to do with it being a cold start and maybe some carb tuning, but it’s also the VERY asymmetrical exhaust really making it sound solid and mean! Unfortunately, the chop goes away a little once it’s warm. I’d Love it if it didn’t tho! Also, a new, black Antigravity battery will just disappear once we get one into a custom box. Those things are great!

Very Attractive transformation! My ‘81 XV920RH ( I bought it new ) is still mostly stock and dressed in it’s original Hannigan SuperSport fairing. I think I will keep it original…for a while longer :)

Yeah. Unfortunately, there really wasn’t any space anywhere else. If we switch it out with an Antigravity Battery, we’ll make it disappear a bit better. It’s never caused any problems, but it’s the only thing that kind of breaks the flow of the design.

What a good looking machine. The only aspect I do not like is the seat itself. It takes a hard turn when you start at the front forks and work your eay back to the big rear tire. For me, it just doesn't look right with the rest of the bike.

Assistindo este vídeo, comecei a achar curioso constatar o meu apreço por Virago customizadas, passando a refletir sobre o porquê dessa predileção. Entendi que tal fato é devido a, via de regra, elas mesclarem de forma brilhante dois estilos emblemáticos: as Custom e as Naked Street Fighter. Acredito ser um conceito diferente do padrão café racer moderno, que busca o visual das antigas motos preparadas ( acrescentando ou não uma esportividade atual ).. a diferença fundamental estando justamente na raiz Custom da mistura e gerando aí esse aspecto tão singular das chamadas "Virago Cafe Racer". Dessa constatação, acredito que poderia gostar igualmente de Harley, Boulevard, Vulcan, etc.. obviamente se encontrasse mais dessas motos customizadas nessa direção né.. o que não é o caso, não sei porque. Enfim, sou suspeito pra falar mas, acredito termos aqui uma das finalistas do top10 desse ano, talvez até pódium quem sabe.. grande abraço amigo e até a próxima.

É que curiosamente, a esmagadora maioria das viragos customizadas, são todas baseadas na versão amortecedor central. Em relação ao Top 10 desta ano, pelos comentários que já li aqui, parece ser de facto uma forte candidata. Ha, da hast Du's. Würdest du mit einem Trabbi fahren und nicht mit einem Motorrad, hättest du niemals Probleme gehabt. Alles was man dafür brauchte : Eine Schere, Pappkarton, Uhu flinke Flasche, Schraubendreher und einer Hammer. Mit den paar Sachen im Auto war man auf alle Eventualitäten vorbereitet 🤣🤣🤣
