@@00DeadZ afraid so, it was just a week or so ago. James posted a "I'm leaving the Cafe" status on here which was deleted the next day, and we never got a straight answer on that happened. Since Rene hasn't mentioned it at all, I'm assuming it wasn't on good terms.

@@DeathAdder9000 Sounds like James got canned and there were bad feelings on both sides, going on the final podcast that was deleted. I think this had probably been building a while, with Rene getting frustrated at the A/V quality of the podcast and family life and timezone differences making it trickier for James. Apparently James aired a few of his grievances on that final podcast but Rene should've known better than to invite him on and give him free reign - bit of a masochistic move. I know a lot of people had issues with James as a host but equally it sounds like Rene increasingly treated James like a peon and didn't have much sympathy for his situation.

My friend, the film historian Joseph McBride, wrote a screenplay inspired in large part by Gorgeous George. It eventually got made but ended up being very different from what he intended. The movie was called BLOOD & GUTS. McBride was a collaborator of Orson Welles and helped write movies like ROCK N ROLL HIGH SCHOOL. I bring this up because people like McBride, who were working in Hollywood in the 70s, were FASCINATED by Gorgeous George. Shows you how big of a star he was.
