Damn, Maven still looks very young. If he told a random person on the street that he was a wrestler 20 years ago and a heavy addict they would probably look at him funny.

Maven genuinely seems like a good dude - I remember being in high school watching him on tough enough and then seeing him in the WWE glad to see he’s doing good - looks like he’s got a pretty sweet gig going on from the looks of that view

Glad he's doing well. He's got so much more charisma than I remember. Probably a mix between maturing, and WWE not booking him correctly. Great interview

Whenever I see Maven that dropkick to the undertaker comes to my mind! It's been 20 yrs but it still feels like it was just yesterday!

Yes thats all i remember him doing his entire career
@RealityXHD2 жыл бұрын
@@JOHNN01.82 I think he had some other interesting story lines like the one with eugene and when snitsky levelled with a steel chair in survivor series but the best part of his career is that dropkick.

I sometimes wondered what happened to Maven, good thing he's still doing well. I remember watching him as the proxy general manager for Raw in my 20's.

You really dont know how appreciative it is hearing addiction recovery stories I'll tell ya. When hearing xpac telling his story and sharing how sometimes you have to hit rock bottom in order for you to recover, that scared the shit out of me. Here I was struggling for 4 years as an addicted and being in situations that were unfamiliar and scary but yet didn't have the will power to wanna get help until hearing that story. I didn't want to come to a point where I would lose everything so I took some time to search for the right treatment and rehab and I kept my road to recovery private because I knew that it wasn't going to be easy, especially if I were to relapse in which I did a few times in the beginning. But I kept going and sometimes its better to go through it alone then havinf others jusgement adding on.

Let me tell ya, X-Pac and Maven are 100% correct. I had a major car accident when I was 17. I broke my back (L5 and away from my spine thank goodness) and that was my first introduction to pain meds. This was early 2000s and Dr's were handing this stuff out for people coming in talking about headaches back then. At my worst I had a running script where I'd get 180 Oxy 30s every month on the 1st and by the 10th or 12th I was OUT!! I'd then spend the rest of the month spending $60-$100 per day buying them anyway I could. I finally went too far and got arrested and it saved my life. I remember being in the holding cell with 20 other opioid addicted guys. All of detoxing and only 1 toilet. If you know, you know. I remember looking around and thinking to myself, "I'm a college graduate with 2 degrees. What am I doing here?" Luckily the major charges didn't stick and because I had no priors I was able to get off relatively easy. If that wasn't the universe telling me to get right, IDK what was. As soon as I was released 3 days later, I went to a recovery clinic and I've now been clean for 10 years. It's still a struggle sometimes. Especially when I'm stressed or worried, but I've got ways of dealing and overcoming. What a lot of people leave out though is that if you're gonna get clean, you have to do it for YOU!!! Don't do it because family or friends want you to. You're just gonna end up hurting them more when it doesn't work. Do it for YOU!!!

This was incredibly deep on a whole another level...Maven explained it as good as anyone could have about the struggles faced when it started to get worse especially and really appreciate the open and honest reflection about his issues with pain meds and with a full on addiction in general and trying to function at a high level at the same time many people who have faced these issues would still deny that they have a battle each and every day no matter how long it's been since he's had issues with this Maven admits that thinking about it means that he is still battling with it each day until the day comes where he no longer thinks about it at all anymore and Rene said it best it only takes that one time for all that progress to come crashing down and being back to square one it really is hard and really sorry on the impact it's had on his life at his addiction's peak so happy to see Maven doing really well and cannot wait for this episode on Monday! Thank you for these sessions of Cafe de Rene another ball knocked way out of the stadium with the unsung hero James!

Thankyou both for your honesty and willingness to speak about your battles with addiction. As an addict in recovery myself it's refreshing to hear both honesty and similar stories of struggle.

Being dopesick is THE WORST feeling imaginable other than having cancer or some horrible shit like that . And its crazy i clicked on this today as its actually my 5 year clean date Aug 17th . Granted i slipped once or twice during that time but only for a day or two at a time . But I made sure i got myself together before it got bad . The addict brain is a mufuggah ! It tells you lies . Anyone who has been there KNOWS what I mean

I had between a 150 and 300 mg Oxy habit from 2009 until December 2021, at the end it was $350 a day, I’ve spent well over $1 million probably closer to 1.5. I’m on buphrenophine l since December, anyone that’s struggling hang in there and go see a doctor there’s no way that you could be worse off than I was

As of the OXY lawsuit more people died taking them as prescribed than abusing them. I myself broke my neck and was prescribed 180 perk 10s 180 morphine 15s and 60 morphine 30s a month. I'm down to 5 perk 7.5s a day.

I got treated at a random hospital by this doctor, thought he was pretty cool and then went back to my regular doctor the next time. he said he knew him and he got in trouble for giving away tons of oxy's to alot of people who really didnt need it after Washington state started paying attention somewhat to the prescription opioid crisis

Dude, I'm a pharmacist. Your take on looking into the pharmacy is spot on!! I salute you for your honesty Maven. Percocet addiction is real. Hell..., 240 tablets a week in addiction is average. Much respect brother. When I first got out of school, seeing a prescription for Percocet was a rare event. In just a few short years, we were filling hundreds per week.
