Very important to think about light and shadow. Watercolor will always be a mystery but these tutorials uncover it slowly.

Eric, thank-you for your clear instruction of how to rend light. By demoing the same scene side-by-side under 2 different light conditions it was by far the best explanation of the nuanced techniques I have watched. Also, in the sunset version, your approach to save the over worked steam by glazed over the sky at the point in the 3rd layer when the paper is almost dry, is an invaluable lesson.

Dear Mr Yi Lin. I will thank you so much for making these tutorials that I love to watch. However I use to love to paint myself, but my desire went away due to Mr Putins disgusting attack and war against the friendly, and democratic Ukraine some ten days ago. All my happiness fell flat to zero. Anyway. It feels very good to see you paint, and listen to your beautiful voice that radiates love. I needed that. I will re-watch many more of your shows. Many thanks, and love from a swedish old man.

Hi Eric, thank you for showing this two different versions! That was really interesting. I have another question: I saw in your Insta the wonderful painting of the young lady you did with procreate. It would be nice if you can show this painting process also in your yt channel. To add a nft for the painting is easy or difficult? Greatings from Germany Angelika

Amazing tips. I do put too many details early. Was nice to see u keep it very simple. Question for you, is there an app or software that can turn a picture into 3 shades of grey, so we can better visualize what would be highlights, mid and darker tones.

One question, I am have just started learning Watercolor and not much experience in Drawing. When ever i draw i use to add grid before i start drawing. say i add vertical and horizontal lines in 25, 50 75% and i start drawing to see the actual center and where object sits is this good to do it.... in beginning to draw ? When i get soft copy of image i draw this grid in photoshop Guide lines and in my paper and start draw.
