I have to say, Eric you are such a good teacher, you are not too technical, you tell stories about the scenes and the editing of the videos, sounds and animations make your paintings fun and exiting, i've been painting for 20 yrs, but i can see now, i've been struggeling with mixing values, and no separate washes. Very interesting!

Those clean washes. I'm obsessed. that trick of creating a second car is a game changer. This is a beautiful painting! Might be one of my favorites!

Eric, I really like this lesson. I recently completed a painting in Andy Evansen’s course where I found (too late) that the perspective was off, particularly with a car on the street. A fellow classmate said it looked like my street was going uphill, and I saw it after the fact. You have really explained the concept well, especially the relative sizes of the car to a person. I also like the technique of drawing a box and pulling the box forward. I saved this video for future reference. Thanks, again.

You are such a wonderful instructor. Thank you so much, Eric! One thing that always confuses me about perspective is when I "think about where everything is in relation to me." Im not sure what you mean by that. Does it mean my view, eg, if Im looking up at or down on or directly at? Or if I placed myself in the painting?..ugh.. I just dont get that part. 😳😬🎨 could you help me understand?

Great video! Question: can you use the value study and paint over it with color to get a final painting? Or is it purely for reference?
@CafewatercolorАй бұрын
it's mostly a reference for me. Value can get dark in the value study, putting color over it will just make it look dirty
