This is awesome! Like a time capsule but also timeless as this whole album was up there with any of the greats. Severely underrated and yet here we are 30 something years later and these songs are as fresh as 1994 all over again. Thank you for this!

wow..... I am speechless! I recently rekindled my interest in playing the drums again after an absence for decades, starting out again - went and got myself a nice Tama kit. I've always loved the throwing copper album, especially the drumming. I originally came onto KZbin hoping to hear some of the songs again to try and get a feel for them - Never in a million years would I have expected to find this channel and Chad the man himself playing and sharing this with us lucky people. I am speechless but smiling from ear to ear :) thank you so much for sharing your work with the world Chad!!!

I'm 62 and six months into learning. I've always wanted to, so I'm trying to get in 30 minutes a day. I watched your video about five times and think I understand what I'm seeing but feeling it and doing it are very different. Definite progress but I'm seeing a limitation by my age and thinking I might be able to feel it and do it together:)

Thanks, Chad!... this song is the song when i first heard it on the radio i was like.. "what... is... that??" it was mixed in w/ the pearl jam, the stp, alice n chains, etc... but, it was different. it was cleaner.. it was crisper. and, the drums seemed to drive the song, which i loved.. a credit to you. at the time i was like "whoever this is.. this is the sound i like". question: throughout live's performances, you would come in on this song at different times. sometimes in the first verse (like the studio version).. and sometimes after the pre-chorus.. i just wondered who made that call and which did you prefer? met you in greenville sc at a small club that's no longer there (the handle bar) when you played w/ the gracious few. nice getting to meet my fav drummer.
@chadgraceyLIVE9 ай бұрын
Very cool on meeting in Greenville. Sometimes I would come up with starting at a different time then how it was recorded or someone else would suggest it. I really appreciate you notes bud!! Thank you!

I have to ask, what's with the angle on the snare drum. I get better slaps when its flat. I'm just curious what the benefit of the angled snare is?
@chadgraceyLIVE2 ай бұрын
Hi. There is no specific benefit...it's just how I evolved playing. I guess the angled snare works best for my body mechanics.
@patrickhinkle29922 ай бұрын
@@chadgraceyLIVE Nice man!! for some reason a flat snare is best for me. but i have seen great drummers doing it at an angle. very much a preference thing!!

I may or may not be over analyzing this in the near future to learn to play it myself. I learned many guitar parts from stopping and rewinding over and over again on a vhs tape I have from Live Unplugged. Pretty sure that tape is totally warped and worn out now.

@@chadgraceyLIVE titanium, wow. Yeah i heard the brass snare on your other videos. Love that brass sound.. is titanium not as ringy? It almost sounded like the aluminum Ludwig i had.
