I am inland on the central Florida spine which is well above sea level, but still subject to high winds. The 17 hours of winds from Hurricane Jeanne are still fresh in my mind. My Dad refused to teach me to drive a manual. The first car I wanted with a stick was one of those “three on the tree” cars. Well, about 20 years earlier, he has a rather nasty (and quite argumentative) experience with my Mom when he tried to teach her to drive. She wrecked the transmission. 👀 He told me if I wanted the car bad enough, I’d learn it on my own. So…….I bought the car, literally drove it home in first gear (had a lot of honking horns), and the next day I was determined to figure out how to drive it. I had it down pat within no time……….AND no wrecked transmission! ☺️ Thanks for the excellent read Laura…..I always appreciate it!

Hello my sweet Laura! I’m doing pretty good with my iPhone 8+ and 2nd-hand iPad, haven’t had anything go wrong with either of them. I gave up owning a PC years ago! I’m not one of these people lining up for the latest model that cost an arm and a leg and then doesn’t function as it should. I do all my research in the living room, I refuse to have any electronics in my bedroom as I know they interfere with our brainwaves when we sleep. I got my driver’s license here in Japan and back then, they only used stick-shifts. We’ve come a long way but hey, why fix something that ain’t broke? Pray for all of the poor folks in the path of this next "natural" storm heading towards Florida. I'm imagining that my family will evacuate & be safe if they're in the direct path. Laura, Felt your pain when you tried to explain your phone camera constraints. You may have already tried this, but if not, would 2 towers of either boxes or books piled high enough on either side of your board, suspending your camera stand between them, possibly work to get your not-ready-to-be-replaced phone camera high enough for a wider shot?
