For anyone wanting to make this... but are very busty and have had zero luck making these kinda tops that make your girls look amazing... DO THIS TOP! I have a basket of about 10 cute crochet tops that I hate cause they don't suit my body. I was ready to give up but wanted a quick project. Followed this using the measurements provided and girlllll.... I feel amazing in this top! Gonna try others of Britts tutorials now too!

I made this in the Large/D size, and it came out quite well! I used a 5.5 clover amour hook and Universal Yarn Deluxe Worsted Superwash 100% wool yarn in the pomegranate heather color. I bought two skeins, each 218yd/200m, 3.5oz/100g. For my neck strap, I HDC'd down instead of SS because I knew I wanted that part to have some more thickness to make it more durable + make it more comfortable on my neck. For the back corset ribbon, I chained about 280 or so. I ended up only using one skein and had just enough yarn left to make a matching wristlet! If I had to guess, I probably used about 200yd to make the whole top in the Large/D size, including the corset ribbon. If I was to make this again, I'd probably increase the 'chain 10' used to make the under-the-arm part, as that would allow my corsetback to be closer together. I also might've added one or two more rows of [DC, ch, DC] on the bottom part of the top as the uh, *additional weight* up top caused the cups to cover much of that section. I also chose to add a metal ring in the lowest 'circle' of the cage of the top cause I thought it would look cute, and am happy with the result :) Overall, I love the result and the tutorial is excellent!! Fits well and is cute and comfortable. It doesn't have much support, so those of us with a bit more weight will probably notice some slouch and bounce, but I don't necessarily see that as a downside. I'll probably wear this top out dancing soon and see how it does! tl;dr: love the pattern; thank you BJax for sharing it; I'd make a few edits for bigger folks but overall the size guide is really solid, super cute top! *[Edit]* Update! I wore it to my dance class this morning and it was great- comfortable, breathable yet substantial, and looked super cute! Will definitely be part of my standard repertoire :D

@cecelym
@cecelym Жыл бұрын
@andreeaioana4433 it depends on the yarn you are going to use, but I use less than 2 skein of cotton yarn. I use Dollar Tree Cotton and Peaches and Cream cotton yarn from Walmart. And depending on what size you make you still should have a good amount leftover. I make dish/wash cloths with leftover.

Just finished making mine and it looks amazing! I'm a size 36 DD and I found that the strap for the back was wayyy too small, so I'd suggest similarly sized peoples to just about double the amoubt of chains (360 ch) and then do slip stitches back through the chains just as we did with the top straps. Otherwise they're a bit too flimsy. I also found that the cups are a tad too small, there's quite a bit of side boob, though not so much that it's distasteful. However, if you want more coverage, make sure to make more chains in the beginning (I think 19 or possibly 21 should be enough) and then do two more rows than you did chains when making the cups. Just make sure that they're both odd numbers. Hope this helps!

Thank you so much 😭 I'm a 36d (last time i checked and that's the bras i wear now but i wouldn't be surprised if it turns out i am the same size as you) so when i compared my cup to my chest i was very concerned with the amount of overhang on my breast (and being a minor i do not wish to have that at all) so thanks to your comment I'm now just adding 3 more chains to the bottom of my cup and 2 to the sides and going from there. So thanks for this recommendation i will probably update with how it's going. but again thank you so much for the tips

I love this tutorial, this is the first wearable I've ever made, ~but~ I had to make some alterations. I love that it's such a great guideline, and it's super easy to alter it however you want or need to. I'm definitely a plus size girl, my bra size is 44DD. Here's what I did, if anyone is curious: ♡ Make the XL cup size ♡ Ch14 instead of Ch10 for the armpit part ♡ Add 1 extra set of single and double crochet before the scallops (total of 4, instead of 3- it gave me more support. It could be extended even more if you want more coverage, I'm making one for a friend with 8 instead of 3.) ♡ I did only do 4 rounds of the mesh chest piece, 5 would have been too constricting for me, but that's personal preference ♡ I had to made an extension piece for the bottom corset band. The tie didn't give me the support I wanted. I did a Ch20, and just made it look exactly like the attached band. (If anyone else wants to try an extention, you can play around with the Ch#. I think anything over 10 would be strong enough to hold up as a center piece) This made me have 2 corset tie locations instead of 1, and it just feels sturdier on me, because I'm bigger around. I'm less worried about breaking it. ♡ For the corset straps, I chained 240 instead of 180, and I made 2 of them because of the extension piece.

This is even easier then another top I’ve made from a tutorial. I’m definitely gonna make more. I will say I did try to follow the exact exact pattern u were explaining in the video. And found that 10 stitches was not enough for the fire bits. I should’ve known but thought it would be fine 😅. Anyone that has to make the cup a size D or higher. maybe even a C should probably make it 15 or 20 single crochet instead of 10. Other than tht u did an amazing job explaining every detail and a clear view of each step and stitch

FIRE BITS LMAO 🤣 thank you so much though I’m so glad you enjoyed my tutorial! I just thought that since the cups get wider with every size, that the chain 10 for the underarms would still be reasonable. Especially for a person who has a petite frame and large cup size. But your feedback is super helpful and I’ll keep this in mind for future tutorials!

So I saw your TikTok and remembered being able to crochet from my childhood, came here and watched your whole tutorial just to keep on thinking „hey, I’m able to do that!“ and „I remember single, double and slip stitches!“ As a child me and my two cousins always crocheted little clothes for small stuffed toy animals, and your tutorial got me back to it now that I’m 19 years old. I love the look of this and am already done with the bra cups and the lil piece which goes under the breast :3 Thanks for the easy tutorial. The only thing I still have to figure out a little bit better is weaving in tails that are left over- not the ones that I can just crochet in with the new Stiches but the ones that you mention after being done with the fans on the piece that goes under the breast. Thanks again, I love this so much!!!

I wear a size 40C bra so I followed this tutorial and was decently successful. I started with the chain 15 for the cups, but when I did the side parts that go under the arms, I chained 20 on each side instead of 10. Other than that the only other adjustment needed is the corset back chain needs to be longer. I made it 200 chains and its still not quite long enough. Easy to make longer luckily. Thanks for this great tutorial! I've only been crocheting for 3 months and I was able to follow along with no trouble.

This is my second time making this top in 3 months, and following your directions very carefully and with over 10 years of crocheting under my belt now, I cannot for the life of me get those fans in the scalloped edging to line up correctly. I'm left with a gap at the end where a fan should be. But when I make the fan at the end, it doesn't work because it's on the very last stitch. It looks good for the rest of it though, so I'm not losing sleep over it. I just don't understand why it lines up in your video, but not when I'm following your instructions on here? Otherwise, this is a super cute, solid crochet top that is definitely festival-ready!

long tail crochet foundation creates a beatiful and easy I-cord, which works better for anyone needing a stronger corset tie(those of us with bigger 'girls'). Also, the strap bit added to the top of the cups can be continued long enough to reach the top of the other cup, Just come off one stitch before center, make it long enough to go around your neck, attach at same place on next cup, ch1 turn, sc in center stitch of cup and then every stitch of strap to other side, ending in center cup stitch. ch 1, go to next stich on cup and sc in every stitch on strap until you finish in stitch on other side of center stitch of 2nd cup. Then continue as video shows.Nowyou can put it over your head, instead of having a thin tie, as those thin ties are super uncomfortable for those of us well-endowed.

When I first started this as a fresh beginner to crocheting, I got frustrated by the bra cup and left off the project for months. Then I saw another method of making cups where instead of stitching three at the tip and marking the middle, you sticth two, chain two, then stitch two more. That way, the chain space acts like a stitch marker and is easier to navigate. I'm finally completing the top and I'm so excited to see it on my body and take photos. Thank you for this tutorial, can't wait to make more of these in various colours.

Nice pattern! This is my 4th bralette/crop top (all from different designers) and yours is by far the best constructed and professionally presented. I made it in white of Caron Simply Soft yarn, and it looks great. Thank you, and well done!

just one more positive review. I made this using a color shifting cotton and a 4mm hook. (I'm experienced so I just adjusted my stitches to my gauge.) This pattern is so stunning. it can be sexy and cute at the same time. It is easy to adjust and follow. Thank you so much!!!!❤❤

Great tutorial, you did an awesome job!!! I’m going to start mine today. One granddaughter wants it in white the other In black, not sure if white will be safe for the nipple area but I thought I could sew on a very small round white piece of material if I have too. But can’t wait to start!!! Thank you!

For nipple area, you can do one of two things…1. Use flesh color band aid across the nipples or 2. Do your single crochet stitch using Yarn under instead of Yarn over and it will close any gaps/holes✅

I've seen few tutorials on crochet tops, but this is the best one so far. Everything is explained and show in a detailed matter, which is perfect for beginners like myself that sometimes struggle with understanding how to finish a row or where to insert the next stitch. And the top is beautiful! Thank you!
