For all its toxicity, I feel like this show was actually good at depicting what the world might look like for a 4-year-old. The stairs in this scene are depicted as big, and the depiction of Caillou's imagination of climbing them is actually wholesome. The the faded watercolor background depict how new and fresh the world looks for someone so young, the sand that Caillou plays with is very wholesome in texture, and the books he reads with large pictures on the covers seem pleasing to the eyes of a four year old. Maybe it's just because I grew up with this show that I just see potential in it. But it was still executed very poorly.
