Wait...if the scientists want a DNA sample, just let Cain do it himself. Since any attack or injury directed at him is bounced back on the attacker, this could be one of the only ways Cain can be hurt, or this is a paradox or loop that bends space and time. I don't really care which.

I would assume Cain simply can’t die, even to himself, living for thousands of years, he’s probably tried to end it all, especially with the guilt he felt, he likely can’t do any harm to himself, which included things like needles or anything of that sort
