In this video I teach how I like to finish the loop choke from half guard. I did a full series on this available on my website (caioterra.com). I hope you enjoy it and can incorporate it into your game!

good point about the knee shield. you hear so much about proper placement, not too deep not too shallow, I lost sight of this. thanks coach.

Can you show a sneaky way to transition to a baseball choke from this position? Let's say partner or opponent feels there is a choke coming and instead of underhooking far side they stay heavy on top of the choking arm. Thank you professor for all you do for the sport of jiu-jitsu.
@Reubenman2 жыл бұрын
id imagine baseball bats the wrong follow up for this as this has a cross collar grip and baseball is double same side lapel
@FR-ty5vn3 жыл бұрын
Beautiful move!! Possible from bottom of side control with other arm taking the cross collar grip? I get the baseball bat Choke from bottom side, but this made me think loop might be possible...
@kevinhayden90302 жыл бұрын
Did you ever hit it?
@FR-ty5vn2 жыл бұрын
@@kevinhayden9030 the loop choke I’ve gotten from the knees sometimes ending in strange positions - not sure if I ever got it directly from bottom side - baseball choke usually gets at least a sweep from there, sometimes a finish.

Hi, do you have a link to this choke with the head on the other side?

Interesting variation of the loop choke. It seems though this is no longer a blood choke done this way, but rather crushing the windpipe, yes?
@dinopalavra8768 ай бұрын
should be a blood choke I think, the only diff is that it seems to be hitting only one side as opposed to the more shallow grip thumbs up hitting both, idk tho

I dont understand how changing to thumbs down prevents escape is the wrist stronger?
@KerryFairbanks5 ай бұрын
You can get your elbow higher and create a stronger lever, with the thumb down, your bicep and other muscles are in proper position to contract and create a sharper angle like making a tighter triangle

Instead of him smashing your knee shield, can’t you let the shield down yourself and execute the move?
@caioterrabjj3 жыл бұрын
You can but it will be harder as it will become more physical. One he is coming to me, the other you want to go to him and he can always back out of it as he's not driving into you. I prefer to use it as a counter and not as an attack but both ways work. OSS!
