I loved these. You did a great job of informing people. And yes parrots r not for everybody they take a lot of time and patience we have 7 rescued parrots from a greater suffer creasted cockatoo down to a cockatiel I volunteered at a bird store for two years to learn about birds before we rescued and that was 6 yrs ago and we r still learning. Looking forward to more videos

Rene Wilson, Hi I was wondering, I had my caique for about 8 weeks now, he came from a breeder and was hatched 5/17/2017. Do they get over their behaviors like biting and landing on peoples heads? I mean I’m working on the behaviors with positive reinforcement and when he bites I first put him down somewhere away from me, if that doesn’t work I put him in his cage for a while. It really bothers me when he gets in my hair and it freaks my sister out, so I’m trying to work on that behavior. Do you have any suggestions? Probably the same as biting? It sounds like they don’t calm down too much though, which is fine as long as he doesn’t do those two things anymore, I will be happy. I just love my little guy though. Ozzie.

He is so cute! We have a white belly. Ive read before that because of their high energy fruit should be equal to veggies in their diet. Theres a lot of different information out there, but the majority of what ive seen is that breeders and parronts give equal amounts of both. We also give ours some egg occasionally for the high nutrients and protein. I know some people even feed small amounts of chicken, but that skeeves me out lol

People do not realize they also need a lot of attention, play time out of the cage and they screem very loud. It's a long term commitment you have to be willing to take. My caique is 7 years old now and hormones are a thing. We learned how to read him before interacting. One minut he's the sweetest thing and in a second he wants to kill you. Love him anyway soooo much 💞

Okay first of all its common knowledge that all parrots have a long lifespan not just caiques, Basically you're entire rant is all basic common sense no parrot should be locked in a cage 24/7 they all need love and attention.. ps I have two caiques

When your bird hit maturity at 3 to 4 years old. Does it become more territorial, aggressive and attached to just one person? I’m planning on buying one as a family pet but all the people I meet at bird shops discourages me from buying one because of their wild nature. All my kids are teen agers already. They say they can turn on me and my family and become wilder when they hit maturity at 3 or 4 years old. Did you experience that with your Caique?

Gorgeous bird! Do you feel comfortable taking Little Bird out in public with you or will he try to get away? Also as these birds bred in other countries too? I'm in New Zealand :)

With or without clipped wings, parrots can and do fly away. It is best to only either take them out in a well-secured cage/carrier or to train them to use a harness.

Let me ask u question. How to stop poop bird ? I hate clean up any rooms.
@krazykangaroo436 жыл бұрын
My birds are toilet trained. Everytime i see my birds do a poop i say "go toilet " so then when i take a bird out of its cage i say "go toilet " and they do i normally wait a minute or so and say it again and they will poop again most birds poop 2 or 3 times in a short period of time then not for a long time so it works great for play time no messes to clean up. Persistence is the key i hope this helps

There are a lots of videos that explain how to potty train your parrots. Marlene McCohen, WingsNpaws... these guys are good if you don't know whose video to watch.

@cleliaoconnell37056 жыл бұрын
@walo mina@@MM-vt3hf They also get agressive when they get hormonal and especially if you make them hormonal (you might not realise it so I suggest you research that). Have a great day.

How do people have a bird that needs minimum 2 to 4 hours individual attention have many other birds??? You must not work a normal job..
