These birds are playing. They are Caiques. The wrestle like this. This is what is unique about Caiques. For this reason, Caiques generally don’t get along with other birds because the other birds don’t know how to hop and wrestle like Caiques. Take a look at when the two Caiques has locked beaks and shaking their necks. That is a bonding act. These two are buddies. It’s doesn’t mean that buddies won’t have a disagreement once in a like like people. But they make up because they need each other’s company. You have beautiful birds.

@@jocelynwithhersidekickmang4290 may i ask how do you potty train a parrot? i got a lovebird for half a year now , and a cockatiel for 2 weeks .
@blue_smoothie5 жыл бұрын
@@gabbygabby6910 when you see your bird is about to poop, take it to where you want it to poop on its own (like it's cage) and say poop (or go potty or whatever you want the command to be). If your bird poops after a few seconds, reward him with a treat they love (my lovebird loves millet for instance. Just 1 or 2 bites is enough). You can also take your bird to go poop every 15-20 minutes, as lovebirds tend to poop in those intervals (cockatiels should be similar). Again, just see if he needs to go, say the command and reward if something happens. If you want to learn more about training your birds, check out the channel birdtricks. They are amazing!

For everybody here who says these birds are fighting - they're not. I have two Black Headed Caiques (males) and I see similar behaviour multiple times every day. This is how Caiques play. From my own experience I can see here from the behaviour and the noises they are making these are bonded birds who trust eachother. Believe me, if they were fighting for real there would be a lot more noise and a lot more blood.
@rich10514147 жыл бұрын
Biggest misconception about these birds is they fight with each other. They don't fight, they play unlike most other birds. You play with them like you would a dog :) They are like flying dogs. Play fighting is how they play. Not to say they aren't known for actually fighting, but only if raised as a loner. They are known to brutally kill mates you get them if raised alone and they were given a mate too late in life.
@wingsonmyback17 жыл бұрын
The smaller one is letting the orange headed have his way because he doesnt want to fight so he trys to get out of the way of the other. I dont like the vibe the smaller one should have to be in a cage with the Bully,sortd like torture
@4rch3er196 жыл бұрын
wingsonmyback1 owner said they each have their own cage. They flew in another bird's cage (that bird was not home) & started playing, then flew out & onto the blinds. They have free roam in the house, plenty of opportunities to get away from each other, & not cage mates.

Get a big cage(about 4 by 3 by 3 ), and make sure you buy a little teepee, because they love to sleep in those.(I have two) also, they love to chew on balsa wood. It's not really about the cage, its about the toys you will fill it with, and they don't have to be expensive either. We used half a coconut for a toy and he plays witht that more than the 40 dollar chew toy we bought him.

Well, I mean, I have a caique as a first parrot, and it's not that hard. The key is to NEVER EVER succumb to your urge to whack em across the room when you have been bitten really harshly. Otherwise, they seem to respond pretty well to a good, harsh "no". That, and they love praise. And need a big cage. And lots of toys. Which really isnt much to give a pet. So in my amateur opinion, theyre a fine starter bird.
