I live in Clark's home town of West Des Moines. The mom is right about sports. I'm a transplant from Toledo, Ohio where there are two pro sports tean in every direction. Out here, nothing. This is also why Nebraska has the most conservative sellout for football and volleyball. It's all that state has and it's the same here. So Clark is a superstar here and we protect our own and I fiercely defend her whenever I can. She is being treated very unfairly and there is deep seated hatred and racism coming from the black women in the WNBA and it's sad, disgusting and PATHETIC

Wow! Your explanation of the Clark situation relative to her near constant protesting to referees is very insightful. Although there is clearly far too much irrational challenging of calls by all players and although the officiating itself is often poorly done, Caitlyn goes to extreme. Your assessment borders on a meaningful psychological diagnosis. Her conscious or unconscious petulance may actually a displaced reaction to other hostility she is not allowed to respond to directly. You show helpful insights across a range to topics. I for one will keep on watching, listening and learning. Thank you very much.

She's extremely gifted, very intelligent, and, as she says, she just loves to play basketball. Oh yeah...and soccer, and golf, and softball, and.....she's fiercely competitive at EVERYTHING. I'm a former player and men's and women's coach, not just a casual fan. But, I will tell you I NEVER watched the WNBA until Caitlin started. She is the sole reason for the damn near exponential growth of the league. I cannot imagine the weight on her shoulders. C"mon.....you had to have known players who became Tigers on the court or the field, and were kind, generous, and funny off the playing surface. Leave her alone. Yes, she's a millionaire. Hi Jason, thank you for your perspective on CC. I too was upset after watching your last episode about CC. CC does not complain about the mistreatment she's experienced thus far. When she speaks to the press, she constantly praises her teammates. At the age of 22 she sees the value in each and every one of them. I could recall a moment when the press was hovering over her whilst ignoring AB. She wouldn't have any of it and demanded that they ask AB questions too. Perhaps you might have forgotten what it's like to be that age. I know I was immature. But CC works that floor like a veteran and a magician...I don't blame her for venting when she experiences what I believe is unfair treatment. I think we all feel very protective of her. If you called CC spoiled suburban brat, what will you call Reece who act worst? No CC no WNBA, they can deny all they want but that's the truth, she's popular even before WNBA. I saw her in sports news showing her highlights when she was in her late sophomore year in college. Her video from high school boys calling her overrated then she scored 42 gone viral. We just learned about other players until they play against Clark. Reece waving hands is a big deal only in US because media hype it but fans really don't care about it. She is kind, she give donations to different charities, she has summer camp for kids and teens. On her birthday she gave Nike shoes to all staffs, coaching and her teammates, she paid hotel, plane, tickets for her teammates to experience the draft with her, resulted to Martin being drafted, brought them to SNL. Clark is MJ of WNBA, they have this aura that draws people, both very competitive, no drama, very popular not only in US but around the world.

From that day forward, that "spoiled" behavior went away. Props to her dad and mom. They raised a great kid. I watch Caitlin on and off the court. On the court she looks like a highly competitive athlete who expects excellence from everyone around her, including the referees. And let's face it, from the college level to the pros, the worst referees on the planet are college basketball refs - and there is no contest. Off the court I see a poised, kind, compassionate young lady with grace, wisdom and experience beyond her years. The WNBA should use her as the prime example of how to comport oneself off the court in all aspects of life. Dude - lover your show otherwise, watch some content every week.

I think we're over complicating it. CC is competitive, and wants to win. The lady said she gets frustrated if her teammates aren't putting in the same level of effort or playing up to her standards and that applies to the ref too. If they suck she's going to chew them out. In a pregame press conference she talked about how she was competitive in trick or treating and wanted to be first, get to all the houses fastest and get the biggest candy bars. By the end of the night she was drenched in sweat and had to shower before counting all her candy. She said she dominated Halloween. Everything is about winning. She's just wired with the competitive spirit that's over the top but is probably why she's as good as she is as an athlete. In basketball, golf, soccer, she just enjoys competing, most competitive ppl hate losing and get passionate about the game. We all know those type of people in life, its not new or unheard of. People don’t understand that Caitlin has had her share of people being disrespectful in her high school/college years. She just doesn’t complain about it. Have you seen the video of Caitlin Clark trying to play basketball while a bunch of kids sitting in the bleachers yelled “overrated”? She has had to deal with a lot. She just doesn’t talk about it. All she asked when she started her WNBA career was a little grace because she knew she wasn’t going to be perfect! I don’t know how she handles it. She must really love to play basketball to put up with all the crap!

The entire league, from management and coaches, to refs, players and female WNBA commentators, have, from day one, been casting shade on her character and her accomplishments. They have tried and failed to diminish her impact on the league. She has taken their worst, and handled it with a grace and patience beyond her years. Caitlin Clark is neither spoiled nor petulant. She's competitive. Her impatience with co-players not putting out as she is sounds alot like many pro athletes, such as Michael Jordan, who want greatness not onlyfor themselves, but for their team and the league. These criticisms would never be lobbed at a male athlete showing the same intensity. I hope she finds a new career on the LPGA tour, where her level of intensity and competitiveness will be welcomed and applauded, as it should have been in the WNBA. She deserves so much more than she's been handed thus far

Well said Jason. Thank you for your comments both on your criticism of Caitlin and also your thoughtful reflection after receiving this email. I believe Caitlin is a huge spark the WNBA needed, and that so long as she is able to keep the noise and public drama from pundits, players, coaches, and even owners out of where it matters (her mind and competitive spirit on the court), I think, like this mom said, she will figure it out and will mature into both the player and promoter of the WNBA she needs to be to take the game to the next level, especially in sports fandom. I'd also like to mention, I really do appreciate her fellow players, both present and retired, who can see beyond jealousy and pettiness and who have lent their excitement to what is happening because of what such a phenomenal rookie has brought to the game. I love hearing praise for Caitlin from them, and hearing Caitlin reciprocate admiration and honor to those players when it is brought to her attention by the media or other sources. I started listening to you after your Sunday Special with Ben Shapiro, and I have not regretted having you pop up regularly in my feed. Although there are some things I disagree with you on here and there, I appreciate your counter-culture takes on many issues, and your perspective presented with both reason and evidence. It causes me to reflect and revisit many of my own perspectives and thoughts on many issues and concerns with what is happening in our world today. Aloha & blessings, Kendall

None of our business who people vote for...My father, father-in-law, and son all served in the military to give us the right to vote for who we want to and voting booths where it is suppose to be private if we do not want to share who we vote for and be attacked or lose business because of who we voted for... Caitlin Clark seems to now have become the most watched, scrutinized, and judged young woman since Princess Diana. Caitlin did not make a political statement... she was set up by a woman saying that she saw Caitlin's "like" on Taylor Swift's photo holding a cat that said to Go Vote. The woman was setting Caitlin up in a no win situation by asking who Caitlin is going to vote for. This woman and a man have been throwing out no win questions at Caitlin's other press conferences, too. Either way she would have answered would have made 50% of fan base mad. Caitlin responded well and just said that it is important to "Go Vote". These questions are Caitlin's own business. Press should only be allowed to ask BASKETBALL questions. Caitlin is 22 years young! She has lived her short life in a gym. She is not a political figure. What else are they going to throw at her to try to lose fans... religious questions next?? Abortion?? World Peace??

Taking Jason's comment singularly as in 'she's spoiled and petulant'. It's easy to react to that mere snippet. But if we look at her over the entire season and even comments her college coaches have spoken about. It's easy to realize that at times she has poor impulse control. But again it depends if we take mere instances without context to looking at the overall situation. The fact I think she should sue the WNBA for creating a hostile work place. And literally propagating an environment where physically and verbally assaulting her is permissible makes any negative behavior by her more than understandable. I think she's amazing not just because she's an incredible basketball player. But thus far she's been a much greater role model and human being. 😊❤

When she was talking about Caitlin’s practice and game intensity, are you sure the author wasn’t talking about Larry Bird? No one, NO ONE has ever played THE GAME like Caitlin. Just like Larry, she can destroy you with her offensive prowess, and she makes her teammates better, creating that “6th man”. When we think of the league MVP, we have to look at her impact on her team, her league, the fans, and of course the revenue and exposure she’s bringing to the league.
@thetruthstandАй бұрын
The trick to listening to Jason Whitlock is that you have to catch him at the right time. When it comes to Caitlin Clark he has said some things that are legitimate, then he has said some things that are somewhat legitimate but lacked context and then some of the things he has said are just absolutely wrong and ridiculous. But what is worse is his characterizations of Caitlin Clark. The name calling the false accusations of her being petulant and childish, The mocking thumbnails and just many other things were just too far. He has spent the majority of this year Defending Caitlin Clark but then all of a sudden he wants to defend Cheryl swoops? All of a sudden he wants to now claim that the hate towards her isn't racially based when he's been saying these things all year? What the hell is that all about? Bottom line, you have to catch Jason at the right time Other than that he's just unreliable.
@davidr-c8sАй бұрын
Of course she calls out the refs! They are biased and terrible! If CC's coach, her teammates, or the WNBA leadership would do something about the highly dubious officiating then maybe Caitlin wouldn't have to do it herself. That's called necessity, not petulance. I've played team sports all my life. When the game started, I became a different version of me, a competitor who would give nothing less than 100% and didn't want to accept less from my teammates. Winning was "the only thing," as the saying goes. That is called focus. When the final whistle blew or the clock expired, I turned it off. Anything less is a failure and is selfish.

The Fever payoff game 1 was Viewed by 1.6 million people while the Other Payoff games were viewed by numbers such as 460K 440K 430K viewers, that speaks Volumes, to say the least. Now that the Fever are out of the playoffs, just watch the People in the Seats and Viewers on TV etc., drop like a stone off a cliff... I know Caitlin might loose millions if She decides to leave the WNBA, due to total unfair treatment and most likely She wont. Although Ice tea Did offer Her 6 million to come and play for His League. I truly pray that the League and Other Teams players see the light, over the Off Season and decide to play fair with Clark...
