When Clark plays, she plays with the whole team. As many times as she puts one in the net herself, she gives the ball to a teammate. She constantly changes her attack method which seems to confuse the other divas she plays against. Caitlin doesn't have to have the most dunkers in the game, the most assists, the most three-pointers, the most steals or the most possessions. For Caitlin, it's about winning and her team winning is more important than what she wins during the game.

It’s amazing that the WNBA has been around for like 30 years and this is the first time people are really turning out because of CC and the entire league is so pissed about it. At the same time as they were trash-talking about Caitlin not being good enough, she was calmly and methodically smashing rookie-records and created a new one by being the only rookie to score a triple-double. What's really amusing is that she's done it in only the first half of this season, so who knows how many other records she'll smash during the remainder of the season. By keeping CC and LH from being part of the Olympics it has created a very beneficial situation for the Fever. While other teams have players tied up in the Olympics, the Fever has their entire roster at home. After a few day of relax-time all of the Fever players are having practices for the remainder of the Olympic Break. The first thing Sides did when relax-time was over was have a private meeting with CC. I agree with Mick's take on that on his channel. She's asking CC what she needs to happen with the team to create better play-chemistry with CC and asking her for input on practices to achieve that goal. One of the problems the Fever had was little practice time before starting a heavy schedule for the season. Most of the team-integration that's happened so far with CC on the team has had to happen through trial and error in games, and AB seems to be the only one who's been able to form decent play-chemistry with CC. Now that they have some practice time, they can focus on key integration factors like NS not having fumble-fingers when CC passes her to ball. When the team returns to season-play after the break, I'm hoping to see significant improvements in play-chemistry. If Sides can get NS to match up with the play-chemistry that AB has formed with CC, those three players can become a triangle of death on offense. If Sides can get LH and KLS to improve their percentages for distance-shooting, they can shoot over zones that defenses use to try to stop the CC-AB-NS machine from operating in the paint. One interesting thing to see is how TF integrates coming off of her injury. She'd healed enough to be able to participate in a couple of practices just before the break, so if she returns to the court with the total of practices going on she could be a huge X-factor for the Fever in term of Sides letting CC get more rest-time during games, instead of having to keep her on the court for most of a game. While other teams have players unavailable for practices during the Olympic Break, the Fever is filing their fangs and sharpening their claws. This could make the remainder of the season very interesting.

I coached women's 4+ rowing teams many years ago. Rowing is about being in sync, so many aspects coming together, which need to resonate just right in any circumstance. With the first team my selection was based on strength and endurance, thinking the souplesse and synchronicity could be developed. The season failed miserably. I basically had 4 women fighting each other inside the boat, each pointing fingers at the others about what they were doing wrong. I couldn't turn it around. The second (and last) team I coached I picked based on their character. This team turned out to be the smallest and least powerful of the entire competion, but....they were in sync, they actually liked and respected each other. They had souplesse and the only thing we had to work on pre-season was a bit more endurance. This team became the 'comeback squad' of the season, dominating the last 500m as other (stronger, bigger) teams faltered on the syncing part before the finish line. I will always remember a championship in Paris ('96) when we were setting up for the finals and one of my girls yelled out: "Coach, they're HUGE!" Me: "You should know by now it doesn't matter!"

This is the only real reason that CC should have been left off the team. Because it would have caused too much friction between the other players causing more harm than good.
