Um, hate to break it to you but NCAA sports are ABSOLUTELY driven by money. All you have to do is look at the spotlighted teams in any NCAA sport, and then look up the revenue they receive for games. It's an absolutely insane amount of money. Alabama and Ohio State are classic examples of this, as are other top 10 teams. The money flow in the NCAA - especially after the courts ruled against them and said colleges players CAN be paid to play - is crazy. I get what you're saying but there are few levels of "amateur sports" these days that are not heavily influenced by money. Even youth league "Travel ball" has a lot of money into it, or it wouldn't have the following it does. And I'm not saying the kids playing travel ball are being paid, but there are adults up the chain who are CERTAINLY living high on the hog for setting that up.
