The first change the WNBA needs is to get rid of Cathy Engelbert. The commissioner is clueless and lacks the skills to effectively lead the WNBA into 2025. She likes controversy, she's all for personal rivalries. She thinks on-court criminal assaults will increase ticket sales and TV viewership. She's not an advocate of player safety and fair officiating. She laughs and says fans and the media never like the referees. No, Cathy, the WNBA officials are VERY BAD - they're biased and blind. Everyone one of them deserves to be fired, and a whole new cadre of refs hired and TRAINED before next season. Just admit that you're unqualified to lead the WNBA and resign, the league would be better off without you.

Looks to me like Caitlyn Clark could become another "Babe" Didrickson Zaharias, who was arguably one of the greatest all around athletes of the 20th century. If you don't know this lady, do an online search. She was born and raised near my hometown in SE Texas in 1911...just saying. She died from cancer in 1956. She won 2 gold medals and 1 silver in field and track events in 1932 summer olympics.

The similarities between Caitlin Clark and Babe Didrikson Zaharias (one of the founders of the LPGA) is quite astounding. Babe just had a much bigger ego than Caitlin, which really irked the co-founders. I believed she was MVP for WNBA right after the Olympic break. Today she is being compared to her male counterparts. So now I think her next goal is to have her golfing compared to Anika. On the basketball side, she just might be able to transform the WNBA from a "girls" league to a "women's" league, at least for the ladies that follow her. That's so long as the coaches, referees and executives don't continue to hold them back from being real players.

Since CC has other options, she should not come back to the WNBA until they --- 1.) Punish the players that committed what could have been career ending fouls, especially Carrington. 2.) Fire the refs that ignored the flagrant fouls on her. And, reformed the referee management. 3.) Issue a public apology for what they did. 4.) Increase her contract SIGNIFICANTLY.. I would hope they also force the Lynx, Sky, and Aces coaches out of the WNBA. They were disgusting. I am sure they directed their players to "take Caitlin out".

You see, the bad treatment of CC was league wide. Not just one or two teams. Not just one or two players. Who got Nike to ignore Caitlin?? That had to be the owners, IMO. No one else has that kind of pull. Who organized the refs to not call flagrant fouls on CC, or to call flagrant-1's when they should have been flagrant-2's?? Carrington should have been suspended several games for what she did. A simple foul was not even called. The rot goes not only deep, it goes high up, too.

I hope CC becomes a multi billionaire and great in all these sports. Hopefully she takes some of that money and starts a new woman's basketball league that fixes all the problems she and her fans have faced this season. Properly funding women athletes, proper rules mostly NBA and some improvements with trained ref that know those rules and have good eye sight and make their calls the same for all players. If extra hard fouls occur then players will be fined and suspended from play. If you want to push some personal politics or social cause you need to do that on your own time. The American people wants to see good sports play and that will increase attendance and profits for the league. Gambling should not be a major concern.
