CC was great throughout the season, even though the thugs threw everything at her to slow her down, including trying to injure her. Caitlin continued to play basketball despite the prejudice and foul play. She's a class act who raises the level of her teammates and the rest of the league. I doubt the WNBA will be cleaned out next year when they start again. No fooling, I think that if the fans see the type of play they saw this year, the W will be teetering again, like they were before her arrival.

Can someone explain why in a 3 game series the first 2 games are an away game for the lower seeded team? That's like the NBA finals first 4 games being played on the home court of one team. Makes no sense. It's stupid. It's the WNBA, the most dysfunctional league ever.
@jammin_J64Ай бұрын
Their reply would be, win more games, and get seeded higher. It stinks, but that's the way it's been for years.
@vaudou_Ай бұрын
@@jammin_J64You came in with a canned response and didn't answer the dude's question. The answer is that it's like that because the league has been so poor that they make the format like that to save on travel costs. That's the real reason. Not expecting a team that hasn't made the playoffs since 2016 to get a top 4 seed.
@jammin_J64Ай бұрын
@vaudou_ That's the generic answer yes. But when a league already in the red goes in the red deeper to the tune of 50 mil to take charter flights they can't afford, that generic answer is just that...generic. It's a reward to teams that finish higher. Costs are excuses.
@vaudou_Ай бұрын
@@jammin_J64 The reward is having more home games than the other team. The cost is why they are all front loaded. You think it makes sense for two even teams to have the lower seed get the deciding game at home? Of course not. It only makes sense if it's to save money. Cost saving is the only reason. Not an excuse.

@JE-IC I totally agree. But I've seen (and many have seen) that what seemingly makes sense, doesn't happen. I haven't watched pro basketball in over 30 years. Caitlin lured me in because personally, I believe she's one of the most talented players I've ever seen male or female. But what I've witnessed in this league has just blown my mind. I know there's shenanigans in pro sports but typically other leagues at least try and mask them. The W however, is just bad with the officiating and the football like play. It's just not basketball. It's more of a mix of rugby and basketball with some teams getting heavy whistles and others virtually none. The hate and jealousy is just nauseating. By the end here, I couldn't watch anymore.

Aja is the beneficiary of this year's welfare MVP...that seems harsh, but it is the reality of what happened. ESPN declared Aja the MVP at the start of the season and pushed that narrative all season long, downplaying the statistics and impact of Clark. Statistics can be used to manipulate reality. My formula attempts to take position bias and media bias out of the conversation. FG+FT+(assist x2.1)+(rebounds x1.1)+(steals x1.5) Clark generated 2000 points to Wilson's 1500 points. I did not use blocks because this is a positional bias. I believe Clark's generalship and involvement of her players tump wilson's defensive contribution. Contributions to sales and viewership have also had a massive impact on the league. Overall, the MVP should have been unanimous in Clark's favor as statistical impact is clearly in Clark's favor. At worse Clark has the advantage. WE should look at impact on team and level of difficulty. Aja plays on a well coached team that has 4 recent MVP candidates and has been to two championships. Without Aja on the team, this team would likely still be making it to the semifinals of the league championship. In contrast, Clark's level of difficulty was absolutely insane. Her team had not been to a play in nearly a decade... her team had a bench so weak that she had to play most mins on her team as a rookie .....her coach was in her second year. The Fever only have 3 of 12 players considered reliable. It's doubtful that the fever would have made the playoff without Caitlin. All this information was available to espn, yet they chose to ignore what Caitlins has done for the league and her team to push their narratives. Hence, I call it a welfare league.

The WNBA does not have to work to get things right because the NBA is going to write that welfare check no matter what.

Yes, we saw that productive activity and sass from little Wheeler. Loved it. With a little effort and a good coach, she could become a fine role player, off the bench. Fagbenle just needs to get her playing legs and timing back from being off from injuries. I think she is the most athletic player, on the team, and probably can dunk, just hasn't. With good coaching, halfway fair officiating, and a good, big center, there could be some a$$ kicking going on, next season. Unless a major miracle, culture change happens, I don't really see the officiating improving. The reasons were being made obvious, through this past season and especially in these 2 playoff games, with no calls from officials, or repercussions, from management for players or refs, for highly flagrant, not called fouls.
