It was, without a doubt, one of the most talked-about topics in the past couple of days. While basketball is a physical sport by nature, intentional body checks are still frowned upon - and most of the time result in a foul. For Caitlin Clark.
So, who is #CaitlinClark? She is considered to be one of the greatest players in the history of women’s college basketball, especially known for her scoring. As a guard for the University of Iowa in 2024, the 22-year-old player became the all-time leading scorer in NCAA basketball, surpassing Pete Maravich’s record of 3,667 points. Unsurprisingly, she was the number one overall pick in the 2024 WNBA draft, selected by the Indiana Fever. What’s more, her widespread popularity has helped increase interest in women’s college basketball.
Some say that Caitlin’s love for the sport is a part of who she is, growing up in an athletic family. Although she played various sports, she eventually concentrated on basketball and was a phenom from a young age. . Her grandfather recalled that, by the time Clark was five years old, she could dribble a basketball and already displayed great anticipation on the court.

Caitlin is a superb role model for young girls. She gets out on the court and plays the best basketball she can. She does nothing physical wrong to her oppents. Shows respect and has morals. She doesnt boast about the records she has broken or made. Caitlin is not an in your face kinda of person. Catilin wants to play ball and enjoy life like all of us want.

Yes, I sent in a complaint to the WNBA about this particular foul, telling them the exact time-stamp of the video, and the name of the offender against Caitlin Clark, as well as her team and number. I explained that this was criminal assault and battery, under federal law of _Hackbart vs. Cincinnati Bengals;_ and I asked if that is the type behavior that people can expect from the WNBA. People NEED to speak up about this sort of thing.

I'm not being a scholar, and watching every single video, and reading every single headline about this, but I have seen multiple. I vaguely remember anyone mentioning safety. The biggest, and pretty much only criticism I heard, was about Clark being white, straight, and the jealousy from it. Now when you talk about following in other player's footsteps, I don't think that fits either. This is the first time a name was associated with the WNBA that actually had something to do with the WNBA. Never heard of those "trailblazers." The only reason Brittany Griner is famous, is because she got arrested for illegal activity, and caused a controversy. She just happened to be a WNBA player. I won't mention anything else. Also, you can tell the integrity, and lack there of. While some people are condescendingly saying "This is the big leagues" She's like, "I already know, and came prepared." One More thing. It's been compared to the Johnson/Bird rivalry. No. That was a professional rivalry. This is predjudice, racist, and jealous vindictiveness.

Especially considering fact that she has a history of that sort of violent action. She seems believe that her skin tone & that good old victim card gives her a get out of any & all consequences by screaming those - over used at this point - ist & isms. It’s honestly sad how there doesn’t seem to be much good sportsmanship by many of the black/brown & gay players who consistently seem to go way “low” (for lack better term) & seem to not grasp there’s no “I” in “TEAM”. Not mention refs seemed to let more & more things pass that could lead to someone being seriously hurt. I never used to pay much attention to women’s basketball until Caitlyn Clark & honestly was tired of their complaints about being paid comparatively to NBA even though they didn’t sell out arenas & stuff. The plays are stark difference & not very memorable really (just look at latest “dunk” - I think that’s what it’s called - by Brittany Greiner). Women’s Basketball sure has gotten interesting & hopefully the cattiness stops.

The fact that she said "Yo, b*tch" makes it even worse. These players do realize that if Caitlin wants to, she can press charges against these 'women' for assault. And the WNBA is in danger of losing Caitlin. There is not a judge or jury who would make her honor her contract after watching video of these intentional assaults with no consequences for the the perpetrators, hearing about she was hit so hard that they busted her eardrum, the unsafe working conditions, the physical & mental abuse, the other players cheering & celebrating the attacks, and that's before making any references as to why. I would imagine that Caitlin would walk away with quite a bit. Fans are sick of this crap, of allowed entitled behavior and of people trying their best to prove stereotypes are not only alive and well but well deserved & accurate

Banks is totally right, if the WNBA dont come down hard on physical violence on the court ( considering the game is meant to be a non contact sport) then they are leaving themselves, the WNBA of being sued by a player if they get hurt by another players aggression, the law states that everyone is responsible for the Duty of Care, thats the players, the coaches, the Franchise and the League, any player who performs an aggressive hit on another player should be instantly removed from the game, which then goes to the Leagues Judicial Committee for the punishment ruling, the player should be heavily fined, $10K minimum, the Coach and the Franchise should also be fined, then the player should lose games, be it 1 game or 5 games, depending on the level of the assault.

Adam Silver is the biggest joke in professional sports as a commissioner. To come out and say flagrant fouls are a "right of passage" for new players should get him fired. You're basically opening the door for behavior detrimental to the game with stupid comments like that. Even if it's true....you don't promote that fact publicly.

Why aren't there any enforcers on Clark's team? Any sport I have ever played in there were certain players who were responsible for, and often enjoyed, retaliating against the other teams player who committed the fouler, or the other teams best player. A major reason Wayne Gretzky, a relatively small, light player, was never crushed. He had a goon squad on every team he played with. This protection tends to reduce the overall contact over the course of the game and season

No one give a shit about the welfare WNBA until a one of a kind super player came along named Caitlan Clark who is white and she changed the whole WNBA all by her self, Now thousands of people have become fans the numbers are way up the pay is up all because Caitlan Clark made all of it possible. Angel had no effect on any of this and she knows it and it's killing her soul. Why did it take 20 minutes to call a foul in that one game when in our basketball playing a foul would be called in less than a minute maybe because some certain players would play the race card.
