True, the term gets thrown around too loosely these days, but there is definitely a problem. The problem is not consequences -we've always had those-the problem now is that the consequences are often ridiculously disproportionate to the alleged offense and even the most heartfelt apologies are never good enough. Destroying someone's livelihood because they told a joke someone didn't like. Doxing people who voted the "wrong" way? Vindictive mob behavior in this form is a fairly new phenomenon, aided largely by social media.

PS, & keep in mind how it's an interview, possibly even rehearsed or planned in part. And two people with microphones or agency as they say, told they are fascinating, so everything is going to be heightened and more slick than regular convo. Anyway you're probably better at conversation than you think.

The quality of this episode was off the charts. Have been coming back every two months or so and I think the timing and delivery of all of Rick's mini bits are better everytime and this one they were pretty much perfect. On top of that, this was a VERY funny guest that was comfortable jumping from funny to serious. This podcast episode could be your benchmark, it was funny as hell. Congrats dude!

It’s so funny to me when people say “women aren’t funny” or “women aren’t as funny” & they genuinely mean it. I love watching comedy in general but particularly stand up comedy & I watch almost exclusively female comics. Not because they’re women or anything I just prefer their comedy & find women to be funnier to me personally. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Great episode! Love the conversation! This may be an overly simplified read on this but I feel like it's highlighting the difference between someone who is doing what they think they are supposed to be doing socially and someone who is just being themselves and maybe not fully understanding what is expected and why. Particularly during the "social graces" discussion. This is something I run into a lot where I may not just turn right around and ask the same questions others ask of me (ie.,how are you doing etc.) and not meeting that expectation tells them something about me that is not necessarily true in terms of why I'm not reciprocating.

Her TikTok's are hilarious, and she's one of the few people who actually present clear comedic commentary in 2021 without pandering for "clapter". Just super smart silliness from a person who's interested in being good at being funny. I'm so happy the internet is a thing and we can enjoy art from all types of creative people. Their social graces discussion was really interesting to me, I hope they finish it sometime later because I relate to it so much. I understand her point of view that she's interested in like the respect or whatever that is returned but to me it's just someone wasting my time. If I ask someone something it's because I want to know about it not because I feel obliged to go through some sort of social bullshit for the sake of it. It feels gross and superficial to me to a point where that person immediately loses points with me. I much prefer someone to just say hi and then go back to talking to someone else than ask some artificial question they don't want to know the answer to.

I'm not trying to be a hater, but the way he talked to and interacted with Caitlin sometimes bothered me.
