It's interesting to think about their influences though. Because rnb and the rnb-ifluenced sound was HUGE in Japan in the early and mid-00s as well. Crystal Kay, Hikaru Utada, Namie Amuro, and Ayumi Hamasaki were (still are) huge artists that were release tracks in that genre. So, I wonder how of that played into musical references as well.

yess for the XG' guide actually on their channel they posted dance performance (each members and group perfomances) before they debuted (XG MOVE) for introducing them and then they posted some vocal (XG VOX) and rap (XG TAPE) performances. SAME about Shooting Star being "the one." You know what I think it is? Both songs are great, but the lyrics of SS are more about them. The instrumentation of the verses sounds the way falling stars look in my mind, but the pre-chorus/chorus/bridge are in a major key, so it sounds like they're shooting up and away. The tone is more uplifting and almost magical (that's probably the light, twinkly sound effects). I love both songs, but I have listened to Shooting Star for hours at a time and been content. Love these ladies so much.
