Either Way really is just the opposite of I AM. Like in I AM they're just that big and untouchable, like so what that is who I am, but either way is hurt, quiet, contemplative and serious. I love both of them so much.

In my opinion and understanding, I think these 3 titles are all somewhat connected. Starting with EITHER WAY, wherein other people have different views of you whether hate or love. They just keep pretending, hiding their emotions even if they are hurt. "Either Way they're good" Then there's Off The Record, they are starting to share their worries, share their thoughts(they have each other), and slowly coming out of their shells... to be able to express their thoughts and feelings and most importantly themselves, as who they are. Also, them tempted to try something new, something that they've never done before, something extraordinary... Lastly, Baddie, they took the risk to completely come out of their shell and their comfort zones. They don't care what other people may think, say, or do. All they care about is what they want to do and do what they want. They're like a cat, reigning this world with so much courage, strength, and being unbothered af. (most specifically about what people will say). In conclusion, the transition from showing ➡️ vulnerability ➡️ blossom out ➡️ BADDIE IVE DA BEST BADDIES

Eleven was truly one of the most iconic girl group debuts I can remember in recent memory. The sound was a total shock, not what anyone expected at all. And a song that contains some pretty out there sounds/structures BUT it's catchy and unique! The visuals of all the members in the MV was amazing. And with so many people worried about the group dynamic between the particularly famous former iZ*One members + the others, they managed to make every single member shine, with decent screentime & lines. Like it was a perfectly executed debut that could have faced a lot of pitfalls, but managed to evade them perfectly.

It's a shame cause this was what a post IZone debut I was expecting. rrom all of them,... I tried connecting with Lesse and Yena and Eunbi and Yuri, but as good as their discography are, I only ever stuck with Ive, considering they're not even the members I'm impassioned with.

Either way, Off the record, and Baddie are all title tracks for their 1st EP "I'VE MINE" and The three title tracks are actually about the variety of "Myself" or "ME" which is also one of the reason of having the title tracks being different with each other in terms of the style and genre. Either way - is about how other people view them, It is a song talking about "ME" that can't escape being percieved by people around them, so love them or hate them, either way I'm good, you're good, we're good. (can be apply not only to IVE but to other people, which you can relate to) Off The Record - can be interpreted in many ways. But according to the girls its about how they view each other or how they discovered each other, it is mainly talking about "ME" being your own selves with your friend that you trust, Girls night as we can see in the MV, escaping from the world of people that watches their every move, gossiping and sharing their innermost thoughts, fantasies and Vulnerability with no recordings, videos, or photos, hence OFF THE RECORD. BADDIE - is about how they discovered the other side of themselves, it is a song about a different "ME" that they are embracing. As we can see in the mv, its a total opposite of what an idol do, doing whatever you want not obeying rules, not giving af about other people and the consequences. Which we can see from the lyrics to the MV. They also used cats as this animal always do random and whatever they want without thinking, they have their own rule.

Something to note about the connection of the three and why they chose the specific songs and opted a triple title (from the girls themselves) Either Way is then seen from others' gaze (other people's view) Off the Record is them as discovered by each other (each other's view) Baddie is a different version of themselves they discovered (self view) "We decided to express 'myself' in a variety of ways rather than being confined to just one image. Just as many people have various tastes, we want to satisfy a variety of needs through many concepts."

I love how very Ive all these songs feel and yet how different they are. These girls are amazing and they get SO MUCH unnecessary hate so I like that they did both Either Way and Baddie. Either Way reminding people that they are human beings since people seem to forget. Baddie saying that they are ready to fight for their spot. Off the Record to me is the most classically Ive sounding of the three. It is vocal heavy and catchy. Also somehow this is the first time you’ve shown up for me. Subscribed obvs but the KZbin algorithm really failed me for not putting you in my recommended sooner.

the either way mv behind made me even more emotional because of that one yujin scene. she was completely breaking down on the scene where she was having fun and she herself suggested it. either way is such an emotional song and i really thought nothing can make me sadder than 'shine with me' (their bside written by wonyoung)

I just love how both Either Way and Baddie showed sides of IVE that the public haven’t seen yet and they were completely opposite. Off the Record was the standard IVE pop track but still amazing. If you do get to their b-sides one day, you should absolutely start with their “I’VE IVE” album which had I AM and KITSCH on it. Every other comeback only had 1 bside with it but I’VE IVE is a full length album. This recent comeback is a mini album which is also good.

Eleven is such an iconic debut, they kind of flew under the radar when it was first released, and people were talking smack about how IVE wasn't doing well even with 2 ex IZ*ONE members (wonyoung and yujin) because the song only managed to debut at rank #96 on melon. Little did they know it became an organic hit and peaked at #2 because of how good the song and the members' stage presence is, it even officially became the longest charting song by an Idol Girlgroup on MelOn Daily Chart history! (577 days). QUEENS.

I think the main sample on off the record is the bridge takes the melody and repetition of lovefool by the cardigans with the «love me love me» and the «leave me leave me» I really loved that part :)
