So do I. Out of all the whistles the GS-4 has ever worn, that one is my favorite one.

@@T128Productions Fun Fact: 4449's whistle was modified when she was returned to service in the 1970s so that it could be quilled. Almost if not all of the Southern Pacific's steam locomotives just had a button for the whistle rather than the standard cord.
@VirtualRailfanProductions6 ай бұрын
Personally I love the whistle 844 had during the 1990s. From what I understand 844 no longer has that old whistle, which is kinda sad.

Up 8444 & sp 4449 racing to Southern Califórnia
@T128Productions10 ай бұрын
Yes, but no. This is when they were going back to their homes. That is, the UP 844(4) going back to Cheyenne, Wyoming, while the SP 4449 goes back to Portland, Oregon. In Cajon Pass (technically part of SoCal) both trains had a race up the pass, only to have the 4449 drop out after the hotbox detector went off.

Could you at least post a REAL comment, instead of spamming your family members names comparing their voices to random train whistles just for the heck of it? Besides, these people that make these videos worked their butts off trying to capture every single second of these rare beasts of iron in action, and these “comments” of yours aren’t exactly helping. You could at least expand your vocabulary and fully express how you actually feel about watching these train videos without spamming stuff like “Sherman Peabody” or whatever.

Where in the world is the railroad Diamond located at
@Patrick_37518 ай бұрын
The diamond used to be located just off West Valley Blvd in Colton, right next to the I-10 overpass. It has since been removed, with the UP mainline crossing over the BNSF on a flyover.

I would say the 8444 won the race because the 4449 triggered a hotbox detector, forcing the train to stop in order to cool the bearings down.
