I bought one after watching you play - the variety of sounds you get out of this with your techniques is amazing! Really inspiring 😄 This finger playing technique, does it have a name? Where can I learn that? Do you use the rubber mat or did you remove that?

Thank you for your message. I dont remember now the rubber mat, in what part of the instrument it is? I dont have any rubber mat, I dont remember if it came with it. The finger technique is a mix of couple of things plus other I invented, part is darbuka technique of playing, you can find many videos in internet of finger techniches for darbuka, some guys play crazy things, have a look, and the one with the back of the hand when I move both at the same time very fast also people like Kabeçao or Portia they do it somentimes when they play Handpan. If you text me by messenger (Facebook) I can send you a video to show you how to do it.

@ thanks Marcos, will look at some Darbuka videos for basic techniques. 🙂👍 And yeah, it came with a rubber mat, and a slip of paper explaining how the mat will "fall to one side or the other" when you flip the drum. It's supposed to dampen the snare when you're playing the other side. But it tends to get stuck on one side and it's just more distracting than helpful. Thanks for the reply 🙂

Me pregunto si usaste algún mic especial para el vid o solo el del móvil. Lo digo ya que otros instrumentos suenan d maravilla y luego in situ dejan mucho que desear.
