Who's that at 0:51? Great video! That mic did a amazing job picking up the sound of the cajons and voices over the noise...
@CajonMaster5 жыл бұрын
Thanks! That's true, the mic was great considering the noise at NAMM.

Hey awesome man. Definitely the Schlawerk. By the way that was me playing at 4:28 on the right with the Pearl shirt.

I own and play a Kopf S-Snare Cajon handmade in Waycross, GA! It is awesome. I've had it now about 8 years. 👍 Steve Head, the owner & Founder of Kopf Percussion, is great to work with, answered all of my questions before my purchase, and the customer service after the sale has always been exemplary!

2:05 "It doesn't go into the bass too, too much"... No it just go into the bass too much :-D
@dartme183 жыл бұрын
My thoughts exactly. "It doesn't go into the bass too much" "Why did you say that? More snare in bass than any other cajon I have heard." It sounds fine...that's just the weakest aspect!

The cardboard "carton cajon" is a cool idea.. except that the price is totally outrageous! You can get a nice wooden cajon for around the same price.
@CajonMaster3 жыл бұрын
Hi Chuck, thanks for your comment. The cardboard cajon costs around 30 euros here in europe. Which wooden cajon did you find at this price?

A Cajon is something I'd use once in a while, in the recording studio....so, I want to start with one Cajon....with a decent amount of "woof" on the "bass drum", and a good amount of versatility. So, which would be your suggestion??
@CajonMaster4 жыл бұрын
Hi Richard, There are several brands that make Cajons with this modern sound (bass drum and snare sound). There are also some really good ones made by artisans. Where are you based?
@richardlandis26904 жыл бұрын
@@CajonMaster I'm in Nashville. By the way, I really liked a couple of videos by Mona Tavakoli. It's hard to judge a Cajon by listening on the internet. I've read mixed reviews of the one that she had a hand in designing (MT Box). Do you know it, and do you have an opinion?
@CajonMaster4 жыл бұрын
@@richardlandis2690 Yes! I do know Mona Tavakoli, she has cool videos! I don't know much about this specific LP model, but it sounds great in the video. If you are in the US you can check out also some Cajon artisans, there are many over there, have a look at Croaker percussion, they make some cool cajons. And if you want something standard but efficient for the studio I can recommend the Schlagwerk La Peru model, you can watch the review I made here - kzbin.info/www/bejne/oprFi3mfd9KbpKs - I hope it helps 😉

I like LP, so far. There City Cajon (something like that. Black box.) is entry level at 100$, but is small but not too small, has great separation between snare and bass sounds and def a good bit of oomph. Looking for my next, bit love this one as a starter, at least.

I wouldn’t buy any. I make my own. It’s fun and easy and more satisfying that way.
