I love how no matter what color they are everybody from the boot talk with that same Cajun influenced accent. I grew up in Baton Rouge 90s and early 2000s and this is pretty damn authentic Cajun boil right here. It trips me out that this guy is a chino. There was a heavy Vietnamese presence in Baton Rouge surprisingly when I was growing up there.

I love to see men be the providers. My most secure times in my life, when I was happy to lucky and care free were times when I was with my grandpa, shopping for family get togethers and running around playing as my Grandpa and the other adults prepared our get together meals. Every now and again us kids would get curious about something or we'd get summoned over and it would be so much fun and happiness in the air. Thinking back we kids were in the way and holding up progress, but I think the vantage point of the camera angle, though it's to show the pot, just seeing, lol, knees and spatulas and food, gives me flashbacks of being a kid and that BEING my vantage point of the world. Adult legs standing around, men's voices brain storming over our feast preparation, laughter and love. Thanks for sharing your mother's day video

Damn that looks good right about now. I'm from Hamilton , Ontario , Canada. We don't have a lot of crawfish eating up this way. But there are a few places springing up that are cooking up these delightful treats. I've only had the chance of eating these one time and they were delicious ! I was raised on lobster and lots of fish seeing as my Daddy was born and raised in Nova Scotia. Love me some fresh seafood ! Nothing better , I sure would love to sit down with lots of friends and family to have a big old scoff like that too ! That's definitely how you do it up ! What is your favorite seasoning ? Zatarain's or Old Bay ? My mouth is just watering now ! Yummy !

Those are huge! In indiana we only get served tiny crawfish with no flavor. You didn't show purging/cleaning, did you use salt? 3 rinses? What seasoning you use besides bay leaves, onion, mushroom, and celery? What citrus did you use? No potatoes, corn? Thanks - the pot looked good - why so high in cholesterol?
@MidnightCravings
@MidnightCravings 5 жыл бұрын
Check this video, step by step... kzbin.info/www/bejne/n4XSiH6Pqrl5es0 I always rinse and purge 3X without the salt (salt only shock the crawfish since they're freshwater animal, and a study did by LSU showed salt only increased their mortality). I use lemon and orange to flavor my stock and the butter or margarine to give it a nice rich stock. The seasonings might seem a lot but because their shells are hard it takes that much to flavor the crawfish

@MidnightCravings
@MidnightCravings 6 жыл бұрын
Depends on the weather (freezing) and harvest it can get even lower. The closer you are to the crawfish farms you are more likely to get a better price. Right now certain places sell them for $1.25 a pound. In January at the beginning of season it's around $4 but steadily drops as you go into the busy season around March thru May
