@ 10:00, The Cajan Trinity is onions, bell pepper, and garlic, AND the Cajan seasoning trinity is 3, 2, 1, which is 3 salt, 2 black pepper, and 1 Cayenne pepper. You described the NOLA trinity.

I've watched a lot of videos but came back to this one often to learn how to boil crawfish. I've had four boils and followed your husband directions and each time the boils were great. My neighbor who has been boiling for years told me they were the best he ever had WOW, his wife told me he told her the same thing. Your style and explanation were on point and worked for me. After this year I will consider myself as one that can boil crawfish. Thanks

Hi Kids, I will ask a novice question, even though I just saw this for the first time today April 1st, 2023. (p.s. I'm 74, and my lovely bride Nita is 68, but we are always hungry for regional food.) We live in CT, and I want to buy crawfish that I saw in the supermarket. I can't come to GA (because they won the Nat'l Championship...again!) or Louisiana, but I want to boil up Easter crawfish this week. Are the crawfish in the market here in CT any good? I think they're from a farm. Any help is appreciated, and have a great Easter.

Thanks for showing the humor and hospitality of your family and the South Louisiana culture! I grew up in New Orleans (Dad was a shrimper!) and went to college in the heart of Cajun country in Lafayette. I'm from the midwest and the best seafood I ever had was when I went to New Orleans. That was back in the early 1980's. I've not eaten at Red Lobster since. Also, this must have been a sophisticated boil because the lady is drinking wine and the gent is occasionally wearing a jacket. Fine dining! I've eaten lobster before but never crawfish or been to a boil. Would love to try it sometime. (not trying to invite myself, just sayin')

Remember when Red Lobster and Steak and Ale were the epitome of best restaurants in the 80s!!?? Lol! I can still remember the pumpernickel bread they served! @@JulielinhMouret Boiled brussel sprouts soak up a lot and I threw them in one day. It worked. The boil/spice gets in them and they taste amazing. As for the pinapple - I saw a guy throw in some halved oranges with his once, and it was definitely an interesting flavor. For my next boil I took a whole pineapple and cut it into chunks and threw it in. It came out sweet and fruity and pink, speckled with the boil/seasoning and was awesome.
