On my second day in Louisiana in partnership with Tabasco, I went on an all out cajun food tour! From cajun Benedict, to poboys and charbroiled oysters, all topped with Tabasco!
Are first stop of the day was the French Press in Lafayette. This restaurant is famous for its cajun Benedict with boudin. I have to say that was probably one my top eggs Benedict’s I have ever tried!
Next up we headed to lunch at Olde Tyme Grocery in Lafayette to eat po’boys! I tried two different styles, oyster and shrimp and that oyster po’boy was out of control!
We now head to Avery Island where Tabasco has been making Tabasco sauce since 1868. We took a tour of their Jungle Gardens and then finished off the day with some charbroiled oysters infused with Tabasco sauce!
Have you ever tried cajun food before?

Finally someone talking about the BEST of Louisiana food. West of the Atchafalaya Bridge is where it’s at. Also, it’s pronounced Laffy-ette.

We have better food at corner gas stations than at most New York restaurants. Hard to walk around the neighborhood without getting whiffs of all the awesome Louisiana cooking goin on. I love my Louisiana.

Boudang??? It's pronounced (boo-dain) it's hard to describe the last syllable while typing. It's got a southern Louisiana accent on the last syllable. I love ole thyme grocery. I live in Lafayette. It's really pronounced lafeeyette down here. And I love parc San souci (where that Lafayette sign was)

I'm not trying to be a dick or anything but eggs benedict is poached egg on top of Canadian bacon on an English muffin with hollandaise . That version is way too different. Eggs benedict in a pool of gumbo? Sorry but that is just too different. Might taste ok but the hollandaise is essential for anything called benedict.
