My father-in-law was French-Canadian, and he sounded just like this!

Recently moved back to Louisiana after being gone for over 35 years. I remember listening to Mr. D'Hemecourt on KALB-TV Channel 5 in Alexandria. He used to do a recital of this every Christmas and I still remember it very fondly. My grandmother was from South Louisiana and she would only speak French to her sisters when she didn't want us to know what she was talking about :-) Unfortunately, because speaking French in school was not allowed back then, I never learned to speak it and have always felt cheated in that respect. Thank goodness the state came to their senses about our French heritage and have taken steps to preserve it. It is one of the most endearing things about our state and I hope we never turn our back on it again.

Barbara G. - This is charming! I'm fascinated by the patois. I've wondered how the Acadians might speak after a couple of centuries of being driven out of Canada and sent down to New Orleans. (A terrible affair, that. It's a wonder that any survived.) Love '...was movin' along like some crayfish done snuck up his culotte'! Great fun with alligators and all! This is a keeper.

WRONG, WRONG, WRONG.......................This is Jules D'hemecourt AKA Tee Jules, DO THE RESEARCH FIRST, you don't have ANY facts to back up your assertion just because his voice sounds like Justin Wilson's. If you 'google' the biography of J. Wilson, you would see the albums he has to his credit and, THIS one isn't one of them........RESEARCH FIRST PLEASE!
