Wow! The most incredible day with Alex. I can not say enough great things about this bike. Truly, my one and only complaint is the tires. This would be true on any new bike. One thing folks are forgetting that you know will happen, is aftermarket! My brain went nuts of all the things I could do to set this up for me. Complete and total giggle factor!!!

I also have a little track in my backyard woods and silent is key to keeping neighbours happy. Also 14k usd is a little crazy! Ktm e5 for one kid and hopefully a 65cc comparable model will be out soon.

This bike has some nice features. Especially the weight. At 165 pounds it would probably feel great in tight singletrack. It seems a little odd to me that it has only 8 inches of suspension travel under its 35.75 inch seat height though. Even with just 15 hp I think at least 10 inches of suspension would be better and I would prefer the normal foot of travel even more. I like that EVs are seeing a lot of development and competition. Take a look at a Stark Varg electric dirt bike sometime before you pull the trigger on a Cake. Double the battery power, 60hp, big suspension and the same price as Cake.

It's great that TFL has access to a true experienced dirt bike rider to form an opinion about this thing. I have done both on and off-road riding, but even after watching his overly enthusiastic promotion of it, I am skeptical. Now, if you put a person with NO dirt bike riding experience on it, and let them learn on it, they would not have a transition problem.(obviously) But after decades of riding, it would be a difficult transition for me to depend on the clutch lever to modulate the rear brake. Equally difficult transition would be having no modulation from gears that you depend on for slowing down for a turn and upshifting out of it. I mean as a casual ride, it is probably do-able. I would like to see lap time differences between an ICE bike and this thing on a dirt track.

Well just gone electric with my everyday car and this could replace my MX bike. One thing I would do straight away is fit a rear foot brake lever and ditch the handlebar rear brake lever set up.

Same here! That would not be difficult to do with a rear brake lever. It would make a big difference for my feel.

@@andrewsmith9575 Thinking logically they should market this model for the mountain bike people, and then do one for the motorbike enthusiast with the rear footbrake lever or offer it as a retro fit kit to give us the option.

@@Nickwillfixit I think the bike has been out for over a year now. They very much so looked to the MB community for their opinion of the bike. Very smart to do that. This dirt bike is every bit a motorcycle. It would only take a rear brake pedal added to finish it off. I was showing a lot of the slow and balanced side of the bike. Make no mistake, this is a very fast dirt bike! Love your rear brake idea

Totally agree with you. The Alta bikes, especially the MXR were far ahead of their time and currently the best e bike out there. Let’s see if Stark really produces a better bike. The Alta and the Stark are more alike than dissimilar. Both have 6KW batteries, neither have swappable batteries or onboard chargers. Stark has polished the apple a bit and I can’t wait for the first real world comparison between the Alta and the Stark. It’s arguable that the Alta has better components partnering with KTM and WP. Honestly, Alta should still be here today if not for the predatory business tactics of Harley Davidson and Buell too.

It is amazing how Cake have managed to make the "fuel gauge" even more useless than it was on gas bikes 🤔 They need to give a % this is just battery basics. Unless your a actual professional, (and the marits of this gentleman being professional are questionable waring sneakers and dropping foot like he's dancing) that aside you can get 95% of the way there with a SurRon, and you could buy 4 for the same price, it dose make it hard to justify. They make a very well engineered machine, that looks like it was made to be rode by robots with no soft spots, they could use a serious ergonomic overhaul.
