My sister first got Fashion Nugget when I was 12 and I didn't realize CAKE was my favorite band until I was like 36 or 37 (someone asked me what's my favorite CAKE song and I said "well I can't really do that, but maybe I could narrow it down to a top 15" and they pointed out that that's not typical). 8 years.. as usual Cake was way ahead of their time, although Iron Chef would have been on around the same time- it had the celeb judges and timed cooking segments. But you're right the resemblance to Chopped is spot on.. i wonder if a producer was a Cake fan?

I got to say, I love this video. I love cooking shows, Jeff Smith's Frugal Gourmet has to be the first cooking show I ever watched, before The Food Network popped up. I was sadden by everything that happened with him and how he just disappeared. The same with Rick James, give it to me baby! A Phyllis Diller is always a fan favorite. And the food looked awesome, the song was good. Yeah, loved it.
