nice tutorial although I don't recommend the MatroxDual head2go its not a reliable device and you could achieve the project faster using only one instance of madmapper and using 2 projectors form the manage output window and duplicate already mapped surfaces then replace media by the right ones . good tutorials tho I also suggest you to use the 3d Object and a "baked 3d texture" :) which would let you calibrate it in 6 steps and would let you use from 1 to 4 sides video mapping very easily .

Hi - thanks for your reply. Interesting that you don't rate the DualHead2Go. And yes, your suggestion of managing the two projectors in one instance of MadMapper sounds more efficient. I think I understand the workflow you're talking about in the second part of your reply. I'll give it a try at some point :)

In this tutorial I use Qlab and you can sequence multiple clips in there

Looks amazing!! To project two different videos on two projectors, does the HDMI splitter function as the dualhead2go? What's the difference? Thanks!
@LumaBox5 жыл бұрын
The Dualhead2go doubles the size of the output. My understanding of HDMI splitters is that they take one input and split it into 2 duplicate outputs (i.e. used to show the same content on two different screens). This isn't what you'd want to output two different videos.

I honestly don’t understand how someone who bakes cakes is pumping out all these michelin star quality tutorials for all the different Projection Mapping software suites

Is there any delivery of the effects to iraq
@LumaBox4 жыл бұрын
I have a directory where you can check for local providers lumabakery.com/cake-mapping-provider-directory/ Doesn't look like there's anyone currently operating in Iraq that I'm aware of -- but there might be. You could always buy the videos in my shop and provide the service yourself in Iraq lumabakery.com/shop/

Hello. What projector you suggest ? If its 3500 ANSI lumens and WXGA ITS ok?
@LumaBox5 жыл бұрын
I list the projector and all the kit I used here lumabakery.com/materials-equipment/ The brightness you need very much depends on the ambient light in the area in which you're setting up the display (as well as other factors, like how close you are projecting from). 3500 lumens could be enough. WXGA is ok... but you might not be happy with the resolution of your projections.

So why do you use MadMapper and not just create surfaces in Qlab and do the mapping there?
@SandritterProductions5 жыл бұрын
I used to train and design the cake mapping at Walt Disney World, when is first came out, and that's exactly what I had them do - QLab's mapping for simple shows is great, and Figure53 support is outstanding!
@Its333Me5 жыл бұрын
I'm wondering the same thing!
@LumaBox5 жыл бұрын
I don't find Qlab's input mapping capabilities intuitive at all. I like mapping with MadMapper. But I believe those who recommend a purely Qlab-based solution for doing this. I'm fully aware that my way's not necessarily the best and definitely not the only way of going about cake mapping with two projectors. It was just a workflow I used for a while that served me well at the time.
@SandritterProductions5 жыл бұрын
Luma Bakery MadMapper is also fantastic software, and we had the same reasons for using QLab - it just fit into our workflow, at the time. It brings up an interesting discussion about content/design dictating playback method (or vice versa).

I want to die, did you actually just duplicate a professional application meant for controlling numerous displays at once, in order to do so? Come on, please learn the software you teach.
@LumaBox4 жыл бұрын
Yes, I've since learned that that was a big and pretty obvious unnecessary step. I'm working on a new tutorial with a better approach. If you have any pointers they'd be gratefully received. When you're figuring this stuff out by yourself, it's easy to overlook obvious things. I was only trying to share a workable solution I'd managed to put together and successfully used on numerous occasions.
