Guys the days of staring forlornly at a bowl full of cake scraps are OVER! Dane, Nikki and Sally are here to show you how to use leftover Cake, Icing and pretty much anything else to make your own Cake Truffles! The gang make these all the time at the Bakery, and they're a great way of using up your leftovers. All you need is some cake, some icing and some chocolate for dipping, plus any sprinkles or other additions (ahem, Gold Spray Dane?!) and you can be Cake Balling in no time!

truffles are such a forgiving recipe. I've made truffles with my failed cakes recipes multiple times. It's literally about hiding your mistakes using little tricks and the result is small little balls of deliciousness.

Cake balls & pops are my favorite!!! I once had a wedding order 800 of them though When we owned a bakery years ago...that was the largest order we had ever gotten. It was just me & my husband, with this side hustle years ago of cakes. It was beyond stressful but the family was so thankful, it made it all worth it.

I never seem to have cake scraps but I would make cake, crumble it and make either cake truffles or cake pops. My son had a favorite-a brown sugar mocha cake with mocha cream cheese buttercream. I would dip them in dark chocolate and sprinkle them with crushed peppermint. My friend had a favorite-Bailey’s cake with Bailey’s buttercream, dipped in white chocolate with green and gold sprinkles. I’ve also made chocolate cake with chocolate buttercream with a mini Reece peanut butter cup in the middle. I would use a cookie scoop to get mine the same size and then hand roll before dipping. Loved your flavor combos!

Since people are confused... 😂 Leftover cake = the parts of the cake you trim off before stacking and icing, as most cake makers trim cake to get good edges

We have something similar in Denmark. Here we just use cake leftovers, some cocoa powder, marmelade and then a hint of rum or rum essens. They are then rolled in sprinkles or dipped in chocolate and then rolled in sprinkles. It's my favourite cake at the bakers. They are called rumballs or truffles.

Ooh, lemon cheesecake pops! Cream cheese and cream, sugar and lemon zest mixed with lemon or vanilla cake crumbs. Coated in white or dark chocolate, or ground nuts. I don't think that they would keep for very long though.
