What's the purpose for 4 small dowels on sides coz it's not getting through its upper layers

Hi there! So the smaller dowels are there to support the weight of the top tiers to stop them from putting pressure on the bottom layers. That's why each tier has a cake board underneath it so that it can sit on top of the smaller dowels. Hope that made sense :)

Hello Naysha! It doesn't have to be the exact same size (it can be slightly smaller like the ones in my video) - but it needs to be big enough to sit on top of the supporting dowels :)

Hello Elizabeth! I would recommend trying out a layer cake first and working your way towards a tiered cake from there. With some hard work and practice you will definitely be able to do something like this despite your age. Good luck! :)
