i'm from a school and this is what my teacher sent me. this is a really good play but i didn't understand the settings because of grammar and their language. the subtitles helped me but not that much. but its still a very good play and they probably worked very hard on it. for me its a 9/10.

I believe in 2:04 Petruk said, "Niki mboten purun lunga." and in 2:40 he said, "Ndara, ora gelem lunga." Your translation is right though, maybe you just didn't catch entirely what he was saying in those parts.. =) BTW I enjoy this very much! Thank You for posting this. If you don't mind shows completely in Javanese, then this is a show (5+ hrs duration) that recently took place. kzbin.info/www/bejne/qYjIZHVupdSapbMm26s However, if you need any sort of language support of an entire performance, you might want to order the wayang DVDs from the Lontar Foundation, which has two complete plays with English subtitles.

+I am Successful Well, you have to understand - he's a native Javanese speaker who was a guest artist for a semester, so his English isn't expected to be that proficient. But for what he did here, he did pretty well.

Eh, kok kommentarnya gitu ya? Dhalang ini datang dari Keraton Solo, dan dia pernah mengajarkan gamelan Jawa tengah di Southern California lewat CalArts. Tentang pendapatnya, di bawah profilnya nggak ada video wayang, nggak ada video gamelan - kenapa kalau kamu memang ada pendapat yg tinggi dengan tradisi kesenian ini, heh? Bisa main gamelan? Bisa menari tarian tradisional? Gimana pendapatnya gitu lho... "Buka naar krupuk; gedenan munyi to."

Mohon jangan bilang gamelan jawa tengah. Gamelan jawa saja nggak usah pake tengah. Gamelan jawa tengah jawa timur yogya itu ya sama, yaitu gamelan jawa. Yang ada gamelan jawa, gamelan sunda, gamelan bali. Kalo gamelan jawa tengah ya nggak tepat lah. Gamelan jawa gitu aja meski dia dari Surakarta tp yg namanya gamelan jawa mau di jateng jogja jatim ya sama aja.
