Cakra Khan is a genius. Not only does he have that remarkable voice, but he also has interpretative abilities that go far beyond all but a few other singers in popular music. If you watch the intimate acoustic cover of his version of Iris, with just guitar and his voice, he doesn't actually know the words as he reads the lyrics off his phone. It's still very good, of course, but lacks the power and the dynamics of this one recorded several weeks later. It's his uncanny ability to take a song, take it apart and find the truth in it that allows him to often make better versions of a song than the original.
