My dear friend, you were barely in our lives for a year and I still remember you being referred to as the "New Guy" until you were rewarded with the adorable name, Lou. Your devotion to your soul mate Annie, your little floofs, your love of the game Peek-a-Boo, and your quirky dance moves only added to your shy and endearing personality. Where ever you are my dear Cheetos taloned friend, I wish you all the happiness in the world. I will miss you dearly ☹😢❤🙏🐦🌈 Thank you @SK Hideaways for the lovely tribute to a much loved suitor to Annie and father to Luna, Rosa and Zephyr. You brought a tear to my eye 🙏☹😢

I discovered the Cal Falcon nest cam just last year and just loved what a wonderful falcon parent and mate Lou was. I’m sad that I won’t have another chance to see him do all his wonderful “falcon dad” stuff. Be well Lou and thanks for a fun time last spring

Thank you for this loving tribute to Lou ❤.… He, like Alden and Grinnell before him, brought us all a great deal of joy as he navigated the Ways of the Campanile and our dear Annie. So hard to say goodbye to any of our beloved webcam friends, but the untimely losses of three beloved tiercels in as many years are incomprehensible. I know, “nature,” but still I wish for a few years without such upheaval. For Annie’s sake as well as ours. So, holding on to hope for the newest New Guy as I wish Sweet Lou adieu! ♥️

I can't. I just can't... Can only call out his name, again & again... The disappearance of one held in such exceeding affection... greater than for most human friends known but for one season. Too brief the one you so richly gave us, Lou. And now, our grief long with sadness. Our sheer delight & joy in you, your sweet capture of our hearts, now seek comfort & hope in the open sky. As quick as Lou arrived and healed our broken hearts after the loss of Alden, he has left just as quick and broke our hearts again. Lou was so cute, funny and a great mate for Annie. He was also the perfect dad and i miss him dearly. I became a fan of him very quickly with all his cuteness and how he Did such a great job helping Annie raise Rosa, Zephyr and Luna. I was looking forward to seeing him again this nest season, like everyone else and have been saddened by his disappearance, so thank you for this.

It’s impossible to band an adult unless they’ve been injured or are ill and in care. Trying to catch and band a healthy adult would be very dangerous to both parties.
