As I have mentioned earlier, there are many living things that are considered “dead” by humans, and it’s possible for grass to behave in the same manner. There is also no way to answer this question with any certainty at this point, but it will continue to be discussed across humanity for the foreseeable future. The fact that grass is considered to be alive has been debated for centuries. Some believe that it shouldn’t be considered alive, while others believe that anything in the world should be able to be defined as living. In order to properly determine the answer to the question “is grass a living thing?” one must first understand what a living thing is in the first place. Life has been described as a state of existence in which a being is self-sustaining and able to reproduce or create offspring. On the other hand, many others including famous scientists and philosophers such as Charles Darwin and Aristotle-would argue that because every living thing depends on the Earth to survive and grow, then certainly anything within it should be considered alive too. The debate continues today with different sides pitted against each other in an endless discussion over whether or not grass can be considered alive. The grass is a type of plant that has two distinct biological types: monocot and dicot. Monocots resemble palms and orchids, while dicots resemble trees and vegetables. Grasses grow according to the seasons and often appear in large, expansive fields. They can be found in multiple regions around the planet: from tropical jungles to temperate forests to even further north into cooler climates where very few other species can successfully live.
